The Disaster of Kalos (An Ending to Pokemon XYZ)

Part Eight

Back in Lumiose City, Shauna, Teirno, Trevor, and Sawyer had met up with Diantha, and were leading people away from the giant vines and to a safe spot. As soon as the vin s had appeared, all of the league participants volunteered to help with the chaos.

"Where did all these vines come from?!?" Shauna yelled, ordering her Ivysaur to use Razor Leaf.

"I don't know!" Sawyer yelled in reply, ordering his Sceptile to use Leaf Blade.

"Olympia had a vision of a great disaster," Diantha replied. "She must have meant this."

The others stared at her in confusion. Diantha's face had a strained look, and she clenched her fists.

"Diantha? Do you know what's happening?" Trevor asked the Champion.

"It's Lysandre," Diantha replied, beginning to walk to Lysandre Labs. "It has to be." SHe quickly broke into a run. "You four! Follow me!"

The four trainers looked at each other, then quickly followed Diantha.

Jessie, James, and Meowth kept dodging falling rubble as they were fleeing to their helicopter.

"How is this going to help them?!?" Jessie asked, knowing that her partner was about to help Ash and his friends.

"We need to find them and get them in this helicopter and bring them to safety!" James replied, his eyes narrowing.

Jessie began to think about the sudden change that had come over James. She stopped, pulling James to a stop as well.

"Jessie? What's wrong?" James asked his partner, Meowth coming to his side.

"Nothing's wrong with me," Jessie replied, shaking her head and taking her hand out of James'. "I'm worried about you. You've never been worried for them before. You are forcefully dragging Meowth and I into this issue. I'm beginning to suspect that you like the twerps more than you like your own team."

"For once, I have to agree with Jessie," Meowth said, moving to stand with Jessie.

James looked from Jessie to Meowth then finally settling his eyes on Jessie again. Looking into her eyes, he finally sighed, and took her hands into his hands.

"Listen, Jessie, never say anything like that again," James said, noticing Jessie blushing. "You should know that the people who will always come first are you and Meowth. You especially, Jessie." 

"I...I...thank you, James," Jessie replied, not letting go of James' hands like she did last time. "But, why are we helping the twerps?"

"We all have a common enemy. Team Flare."

Prof. Sycamore and Alain watched as Steven's helicopter landed near Lysander Labs. The first person to come out of the helicopter made Alain tense up. Marion, still holding Chespie, stepped onto the ground, tears forming in her eyes. Alain kept his gaze on her as she walked up to him. Finally, she stopped when they were staring right at each other. 

"M-Mairin, I-" Alain stopped, took a deep breath, and continued talking. "I-I'm sorry for everything I've done. Please, listen to me and try to understand. Everything that I've done was for you and Chespie. I couldn't stand not seeing you smile, so I decided to do whatever it took to make Chespie better and to see you smile. I just didn't realize that I would cause the end of the world."

Mairin stood still for a moment before handing Chespie to Prof. Sycamore, and stared at Alain. After what seemed like an eternity, Mairin finally broke down and hugged Alain. Without hesitation, Alain hugged her back. 

"Alain..." Marion said into Alain's shirt. "I accept your apology."

Everyone looked up when Mairin, Prof. Sycamore, and Alain walked onto the helicopter. No one said a word until Ash stood up, and made his way over to Alain.

"Alain, we heard what you said outside," Ash told him. "Is everything you said to Mairin true?"

"It is, Ash," Alain replied. "And trust me, I will do anything to help you all. Even if it means giving up my life."
