Thomas Jefferson was known for many things. Being the author of the Declaration of Independence and the third President of the United States being  a few. But, what I love to tell about him is his ghastly taste in pets.

While at the White House, Jefferson owned many animals- mostly sheep and rams. It was common back then to own farm animals as such since the majority of the American population was employed (or enslaved) in agriculture.

Though, Jefferson had one ram who stood out from the rest.

This ram was vile. He was mean and aggressive.

The dude actually attacked and hospitalized several unsuspecting victims walking the White House yard. Can you imagine going to take a look at the White House and getting trampled by this freak ram?

You'd think Jeff would be like , "Nope, this guy's got to go." But this is the early 19th century and Tommy gave 0 shits.

Even when the ram mauled and killed a poor four year old boy Jefferson still put up with the creature.

Finally, the dude crossed the line. When the ram began killing Jefferson's other sheep, Jeff basically replied, "Nah son, you can't kill your own kind." and killed the ram.

The Ram's name is the best part of this story. T.Jeff would walk around calling the dreaded ram, "that abominable animal!"

And thus the legacy of That Abominable Animal lives on more than 200 years later.
