Also, just relating to the food topic, Jefferson was the first person to ever eat a tomato in American because at the time people thought they were poisonous.
So he took a bite of a tomato like he was biting into an apple and everyone freaked out because they thought he was going to die.
And then he didn't, so good for him.
(Honestly people were so dumb sometimes, like did they think the exact same food in Europe that people were eating was different??)
