This update was inspired by the lyric, "John Adams doesn't have a real job anyway." From the song 'Take A Break' in the musical, Hamilton.
George Washington's Vice President was John Adams. Under the Constitution the Vice President's job is to oversee the processes of the Senate and break a tie if one occurs (there have only been a few, the most recent is Mike Pence's vote for the new Supreme Court Justice).
Adams took this specific job very seriously- unlike literally any other VP- and sat in on every session of the Senate. Doing NOTHING.
The dude literally kicked his feet up and twirled his hair while being bored to death.
Honestly in the HBO series "John Adams" he literally does this with the most, "just fucking kill me" face I have ever seen.
Poor Johnny has no real job.
This was before the Amendment enacted the line of succession...so basically John Adams was getting paid to look pretty??
In conclusion, being the Vice President is the best job around. All you have to do is breathe.
