American Frenchman

Marquis de Lafayette (the light of my life) was more American than some actual American citizens.

He named his son George Washington Lafayette.
He hung the Declaration of Independence in his living room.
And he was buried in American soil.

All despite being very French.

Later in Lafayette's life, he had a box of soil from Bunker Hill shipped to France. He then requested his family bury him in this soil instead of natural French soil when he died.

When he passed, his family respected his wishes and buried him with the soil from Bunker Hill.

Laf loved America so much he favored his final resting place being surrounded by foreign soil rather than his own nation's.

Marquis may not have been buried on American soil, but he was certainly buried in it.

If that's not dedication to one's (honorary) country, I don't know what is.
