He stared at them with a blank expression on his face. 'Are these kids messing with me?'
He didn't know what to think, then Tuzai withdrew a bag of holding and a blowing force appeared. One thousand morganite spirit stones flew onto the floor making a small mountain. 1000 morganite spirit stones was equal to 10,000 gold.
They weren't going to spend all their money because they still needed money for other things. But it was still more than 90% of their wealth.
"W..what!" Mr. Lucky was visibly shocked by this scene; he didn't expect them to buy such a large amount of land. Even the Lord wouldn't be so lavish with his money, especially for worthless land in the outskirts.
'These kids aren't simple; they must come from some powerful family outside of the village. Can I really scam kids like this? I'm afraid of the consequences that would come if their powerful backers come looking for me when they realize the land is useless.'
He shook his head, 'For kids to take out a massive amount of money like this and to even own interspatial bags, they must be someone amazing. I can't do it.'
"Young Lords, I have to be honest. This land is cursed, it is infested with spirits and they have tainted the earth. Herbs that would take 10 days to grow would take 100 on this land so farming is useless and a waste of time. Not only that but the spiritual energy is extremely scarce, even more so than the rest of the outskirts. I'm afraid I lied to you; I can't sell it to you for anything over 4 gold per acre. I'm sorry."
'Yeah, this should be alright. They probably won't buy it, but on the small chance that they still want to then when they barter the price down and I can still make some money back.'
"Spirits? Are they contained within the 25,000 acres? How and why?"
"Ah, Young Lord's I just learnt this recently but around the borders of this land are salt lines spanning the entire 100 square kilometers. This keeps the spirits inside, as for why. There were many spirits wondering around the village and the Grand Master world spiritualist decided to seal them inside this ground so they wouldn't terrorize the villagers."
"Interesting, alright then. Let's settle on 4 gold per acre." Fuyo said sternly, he tried to keep a strong poker face but inside he was really excited, they could get twice the land for the same price.
"What?!" Mr. Lucky was shocked once again, 'Are these kids for real? Who would want Ghost Land.'
"Actually..." Fuyo started speaking, there were a few thoughts on his mind.
'Ah, as I thought. He's not stupid enough to take the land at this price, how much will he barter it down to?'
"How about you sell us all the land? All 25,000 acres, we will pay for the first 2,500 acres today and pay the rest off over the next 10 years."
Mr. Luckys heart trembled at Fuyo's words. 'I don't believe it. It's best not to jump to conclusions, let's see if they really follow through with the contract first.'
"Ah, yes. I think the owner will agree to this proposition, shall we draw up the paper work?"
"Yes, can you do it quickly? We still have many things to do today."
Mr. Lucky nodded his head and headed off without another word. The current land ownership papers were under his name so he drew up the contract and then dropped some blood onto it.
"Here is the contract, outlining the details."
"Wow, that was really quick. You were only gone for 3 minutes."
Mr. Luckys hands were shaking as he handed over the contract.
"Are you alright?"
"Ah, yes I'm fine."
"You don't look fine, you are sweating a lot. Did you mess with the contract; are you trying to scam us?" Fuyo asked blatantly and then put on the most innocent face he could make.
Suddenly, Mr. Lucky felt like he couldn't breathe when he looked at the hideous face Fuyo was making. Fuyo was trying to make him cough up what he was hiding.
"I'm sorry!" He got down on the ground and kowtowed.
"What are you hiding from us in this contract?" Fuyo looked down at him with scary eyes. Tuzai was impressed that his threats had so much power. He was so domineering, it made one excited.
"T..the land b..b..belongs...to..me." Ah, haa.. He finally took a breath, he felt like a Dragon was breathing down his back making him tremble.
"Oh, is that all? Don't worry about it. Where do I sign?"
"Just drop some blood on the contract and say it like me. I, Happy Go Lucky agree to the terms of the contract."
"Your name is Happy Go Lucky?"
"Yes, why's that?" Mr. Lucky scrunched his eyebrows. Fuyo thought it was quite a funny coincidence.
"Oh, no reason. I do have one question why do we have to drop blood on it and do that oath?"
"Oh, the Young Lord doesn't know about blood contracts? A blood contract is signed in blood and finalized with a pledge. If you break your half of the contract I can take it to the Law Enforcement office and have you stand trial. If you are unable to pay it then I can take back the land. The blood and pledge is proof of you accepting the terms. It's a magic contract."
Fuyo looked over to Tuzai and she sent him a mental message 'It's true, but read the contract properly. If you get caught in bad terms you will lose your money and land.'
Fuyo read through the terms seven times just to be sure and make sure everything was right. It was basic and there weren't many words. It only said "New land owner will pay previous land owner 100,000 gold for the 25,000 acres located at blah blah blah, blah blah blah within the next ten years. Outstanding debt: 100,000 Gold."
"Alright then. I, Fuyo Long agree to the terms of the contract."
