I woke up to a male news reporters voice.

"Today there will be slight showers in the-"

"Ella?!"

I opened my eyes. Jack was standing over me, a worried look on his face.

"Where...?" I lifted my head and looked around. I was still in the shed.

"Lie down, don't wear yourself out" he told me, sitting down on the chair next to me. I was lying on an ugly green couch. I was surprised I hadn't noticed it earlier.

"It's not a big deal" I said, beginning to sit up. Until a sharp pain shot through my head and I let out a shout.

"Ella, are you ok?" Jack jumped to his feet.

"My head" I told him.

"Oh yeah, you hit your head when you passed out. I'll get you some painkillers" he told me, walking towards the cupboards.

"No, I can't take painkillers" I shouted, attempting to sit up again.

"Wait, why?" Jack looked at me concerned.

Because it's dangerous to mix painkillers and antidepressants.

"I'm on ehm...." I tried to make up an excuse, "Oh yeah ehm I'm taking these special pills for period pain!"

Jack looked at me awkwardly, "Eh, ya ok so"

"What time is it?" I asked.

He looked down at his watch, "Quarter to eleven."

My mom was going to kill me, "I have to go!"

"You can't even sit up, nevermind walk" Jack told me.

"Well I can't stay here, my mom will be worried sick!"

"I'll ring her" he said.

"And tell her what? Ella hit her head so can she sleep in a weird shed in the woods with a teenage boy? She'll definitely be ok with that!"

"Why are you so negative?" he laughed.

"Jack, I need to go home!" I whined.

"Ok, ok, Jesus! I guess I'll have to carry you!"

My jaw dropped, "Not a hope!"

"Well then Einstein, how do you suggest you get home?" Jack laughed.

So a few minutes later Jack was walking through the woods with me in his arms. Classy.

"This is the funniest thing, you look so odd!" he chuckled.

"Shut the fuck up!" I rolled my eyes. I hated my life.

When we reached my front garden, it was 11:01. I decided I would try and deal with the pain and walk into the house myself.

"Ehm, thanks" I told Jack as he put me onto the floor.

"No bother, see you around!" he smiled, walking away.

I began to walk up my drive, each step feeling like I was being stabbed in the head. After about a minute, I had reached my front door.

I opened the door to find Buddy waiting for me. He jumped at me as soon as I stepped inside, sending me flying onto the floor, making my head feel even worse.

"Fuck" I muttered, pushing Buddy off me gently.

"Ella? There you are!" my mom walked into the hall just as I had stood back up.

"Yeah sorry, we went for a walk and my phone died" I told her. Technically I wasn't lying. We had gone on a walk and my phone had actually died.

"No bother honey, just in the future ring me to tell me where you are and when you'll be home" she smiled.

I was surprised she had let me off lightly, but I guess she was just happy I was going out.

"I'm gonna go upstairs, I'm wrecked. Night!" I smiled walking up the stairs, trying to look like I wasn't in pain.

   If only she knew.
