Ridge's POV

I turned the knob off and ran my fingers through my wet hair. I stepped out of the glass shower and grabbed my grey sweats and boxers off the counter and slipped them on.

My chest was still wet but I didn't bother to dry it off. I ruffled my hair enough so it wouldn't drip and draped the towel around my neck.

Jinx had told me what happened to Kys and Danielle's parents after they left while he ate. I just watched him eat, he didn't seem to mind but I could tell his mind was thinking deeply about something. It sounds selfish but I kinda wanted it to be about me.

I opened the door and glanced at Jinx. I caught him staring and I smirked as he tore his gaze away, "Like what you see, eh?"

His face flushed and he threw a pillow at me giggling at my reaction.

I laughed and picked up the pillow, charging at him. I pounced on his bed straddling his waist as he laughed and struggled to break free,

"Let me goooo"

I smiled and attacked his sides with the pillow as he giggled and squirmed,

"Say please!" I teased

"P-les-"

"Huh?" I teased.

"P-pl-ple-ease" He struggled.

I smiled and threw the pillow to the side, deciding to tickle him instead.

I laughed as his face became red and his wings fluttered against the mattress, "Please!"

He won. I stopped ticking him instead staring into his light brown eyes, my heart growing warm at just the sight of him.

He stared back up at me. He breathed heavily catching his breath as my urge to kiss him grew. I decided against it and got off, lying beside him.

It was silent for awhile before a saw a tear stream down his cheeks, followed by about a dozen more.

I wiped them away as they fell, "Hey, hey, hey, what's wrong??"

I sat up cupping his cheek,

"I'm horrible..."

"What do you mean? We were just having a good time -"

"Exactly! I've b-been acting like nothing happened or like I'm not petrified of..of myself and the situation I'm in! I'm sorry I know you don't wanna hear this, but I'm absolutely h-horrified. I don't know where my family is and its been two days without a call or text or even a missing report for me. I s-should be out there fighting to find my family not fallin-, not making friends and lollygagging around Florida! Not to mention this is probably my fault anyways! If I didn't have these powers those things wouldn't be after me or the people that love me the most...I'm a terrible brother and son, if I was missing they probably wouldn't have slept a night this weekend looking for me! A-All I've done is complain expecting for them to show up...I need to go find them, Ridge if I don't I'd never forgive myself."

He was full out crying as he finished, sobs escaping him and sniffling through breaths.

"Then...we leave tomorrow, right after checkout, We are off to find Mr, and Mrs Kingsley, Okay?"

His eyes widened clearly showing he was surprised "Really!?" He sniffled.

I smiled wiping what I hoped to be the last tears away, "Yeah, we don't have anything else to do...unless you want to go save some random people again?"

"Wait, so you don't have a issue with all of this just up and leaving? What about your job?Besides what about Kys and Dani? They might need to stay and-"

I put a finger over his lips interrupting, "Weren't you just saying how you had to find your family?"

"Yeah but-" He stopped as I raised an eyebrow,

"Kys and Danni can figure this out tomorrow, but you need to take care of yourself. You learned a lot today and saved two lives, good job by the way. If you'd listened to me Dani could be dead and Kys wouldn't have tapped into her powers."

He smiled as I moved my hand away, "Thanks...for everything."

I kissed his forehead, and he gently wiped it off "You don't like me, Ridge"

I rolled my eyes and got off his bed, turning out the main lights, but leaving on the sink and lamp lights in the living area for Dani and Kys,

I cracked our room door and crawled into my bed but freezing as I almost crushed something, "Jinx?? Is that you?!"

He moved over so I could lie down. "Y-Yeah...I didn't want the girls to sleep on that uncomfortable couch..."

I smiled, "Yeah..."

I got under the covers as he turned his face towards mine yet a big gap away, "Goodnight Jinx" I kissed his head again.

He whined "Goodnight, Ridge" he whispered out my name, sleep clearly claiming his body.

I stayed awake a while as the rain stopped & the moon slowly went back to its usual color.

I hummed as I watched the window, "I wonder if Kys controls weather..."

Sleep called as Jinx rolled onto my chest warming me and I wrapped my arm around his waist, drifting off and whispering,

"I rather happen to like you a lot Jinx..."
