Before Comet's Bite

I sat on the now; bare and rather aloof sofa quietly eating my oatmeal & petit cup of coffee I'd...'loaned' (yeah that's the word) from my little brother.
Jinx had left for school a few hours ago, along with my parents soon after for work.
I was supposed to go apartment searching sometime around now but I still found myself procrastinating as usual- sitting on the warm family sofa snuggled with a blanket & breakfast still not dressed whilst everyone else surrendered to the sun's wake.
I took my time eating and rising from the comfy seating as I prepared myself for the oncoming impact of facing the bright lights of day and the loud environments of people.
At the thought, I whipped out my phone from my old baggy highschool pullover and texted my best friend and future housemate, Krista.
Me: hey! when are we meeting?
She replied shortly after.
Krista: hey! Um...Scott wanted to come too so what about 1:30?
Me: sure, i can finally meet the mystery boyfriend of yours *wiggles eyebrows suggestively*
