Ridge POV

I looked up seeing both of the girls' jaws dropped and gaping at me as I laughed, "We have more to discuss...I'll explain in the car. But for now, we need to get outta here."

I strapped Dani into the seat as Kys climbed in beside her.

I'd already sat Jinx in the passenger seat and strapped him as well as grabbed the girls some clothes and food from their house.

He needs to train...We all need to train... Something is coming- I can feel it.

I strapped myself in as I locked the doors and turned on the car, heading home.

"So...as I was saying inside; when I'd gotten to the hospital they took Jinx in and rushed him off to what I'd suspected at the time was surgery since more then just one bone had been broken from his fall but...strangely enough that wasn't the case.

When they were rushing off on one of the hospital beds...I could hear him. He was unconscious but I could hear him clear as day and he just kept calling and screaming so of course I tried to go get him but they called security on me."

"They called security on you??" Kys interrupted.

I nodded, glancing over at Jinx who was still against the window- his soft features still, soft pink lips parted slightly and breathing steady.

"Yeah, they put me in the hospitals calming wards but I kinda had to break out...It's just that Jinx, he- well we have this bond now."

I look up in the rearview, seeing Kys's confused expression.

"We can communicate, mentally that is..sometimes. His sister- Molly...well Canari now I guess told me that we formed a bond binding us mentally by him falling for me and...me falling for him. Meaning...well I..." I trailed off gazing over his body, my emotions grounded and set but the timing not feeling quite settling; leaving my sentence unfinished.

I looked back in the rearview mirror seeing the slight smile on both of the girls faces before Kys nodded telling me to go on, the car silent and sky starting to clear as I continued to speak, "Well yeah after I broke out I went to go see where jinx was being held and then that's where I found his sister..."

Dani spoke up, fumbling with her fingers, "Molly?"

 I nodded, "Yeah, that's her. Well, it used to be. Now the "better half of her" possessed her or has taken control...I'm not exactly sure but, I do know that the good half is somewhere in there and she's fighting...Her eyes were shifting...like...like yours Dani."

As soon as the thought hit me, mindlessly I slammed my foot on the brake- stopping us in the middle of the high way before unstrapping and turning around, "Her eyes were shifting like yours!"

"RIDGE!!!!!!!!!" Kys yelled, her hands turning a bright forest green as her eyes bulged.

I jumped, hitting my head on the top of the car from shock from the sudden all too real well...realization that was hitting me as the car shook as I rubbed at my head, "What??" 

As soon as I'd said it as well as just about everything else recently, it hit me like a brick, I JUST STOPPED IN TRAFFIC. TRAFFIC.

wait did she just...

I turned, gripping the wheel & quickly pulling over before swerving around in my seat once again, only to see her hands still glowing a bright green and her eyes glued to them.

I spoke in concerned tones my mind racing unwillingly and leaving me at an all too familiar loss, "Kys...."

"I know...I don't know how I did it...or what it is..."

I looked over at Jinx, hoping for him to say something- anything before looking back at Kys.

I frowned biting my lip as I groaned softly looking around our surrounding area for any sign of notice before I saw it- Just off the side of the road, vines and slim branches slowly wrapping around the columns under the bridge we drove upon, slowly craning and growing onto the highway.

I swiftly turned back around, holding Kys' hands in mine looking down at them glow before back up at her "It's your plants, they're out of control, Kys. You have to calm down, its a defensive ability remember? You have to convince yourself you're okay. You are okay."

She hyperventilated, her breaths quick and shallow as she watched the plants grow and shatter the foundations of the bridge below, "I-I can't!"

I shook my head my words smooth and confiding, "You can, we've all had power burst, some of ours just happen to be... more urgent....just think of something relaxing and breathe with me okay?"

She nodded slowly, the bridge starting to make a loud croaking sound. The road below our car cracking as it did- the plants nearing the head of the car. I grimaced as I could practically feel the masses of cars stopping along the opposing side of the road- watching our demise unfold before us. I sat softly pressing on the brakes, locking all of our seat belts in place as the green and ivy shaded vines grew closer on the head of the car- setting us all on edge as I stretched my arm across Jinx's chest and let my powers slip free making sure he was completely secure no matter.

"Kys, where do you go that you feel you can feel free? Free of worries and doubt, and you feel most safe?"

She looked up at me, her eyes bulged with panic, and pupils shaking rapidly much like Jinx's when we first got to the Waffle House.

I can handle this. I can handle this. I can. handle this.

"With my family. At home." She responded, her hands growing brighter as she drowned herself in her own destruction.

I shook my head, "You need something more vital. Something that can't betray you or leave you in the dust. Indestructible. Something untainted and forever pure."

"I don't know!?! What's yours??" She screamed, the plants slowly starting to encase the car and wrap themselves around it.

"Okay, okay breathe. I'm sorry- It's hard I know. Just close your eyes and lose yourself in memories or a thought. Go to the fuel that keeps your heart beating, those strikes of lighting strong. You'll find it. Trust me."

She nodded small beads of sweat beginning to form on her forehead, her eyes closing as the car started to rock, and the sounds of sirens and screams nearing from the opposite side of quickly increasingly obvious completely unnatural plant manipulation that we now clearly had something to do with.

Fuck. We need to dip. Fast.

'I-I think I got it, me and my mom. It's one of me and my mom. It's an old memory."

I nodded, "Okay, great. Just follow your Instincts- conjure up that memory and try your best to form a little ball of energy and happiness, and tell yourself - your abilities to stop. You're in complete control."

She sighed as I fell silent- the sound of the stretching and tightening vines around us slowing before it came to a slow halt as the green from her hands came to a dim before entirely returning to normal and leaving us with the bigger new problem eating away at my mind.

They see us. 

No, not the four humans in this Jeep - if that even is what we are anymore. They see us. The unknown, scary, demolishing, freak show, chaotic, four things in the car that's putting everyone at risk that needs to be cut open. Examined. Studied...

Well, sorry guys. That isn't our story. Not today.
