Ridge POV

"I have some explaining to do..."

Kys nodded, "Go ahead"

I sighed tiredly- my exhaustion getting the best of me, "Let's start with the elephant in the room" I said softly moving my arm from under hers- so I could run my fingers through my little angel's hair.

"Before I left...I ah well Dani, you woke up which is great; perfect actually and I'm happy to have you back" I smiled at her

She smiled back, something more mature about her, as she did back her eyes flashing blue once again.

"So" I looked at Kys then back at the younger, "Well first how do you feel?"

She nodded, "I-I'm okay...just...just..." she trailed off

I nodded sending Kys a concerned look, "How long?"

She ran her fingers through her silvery-white hair, looking down- shaking her head "Ever since you left...Her eyes keep shifting colors and it's like she's wandering off somewhere every time she speaks now..."

I bite my lip looking down at Jinx lost at thought or idea, but mostly words as I cleared my throat- suddenly trying not to cry into his hair with everything I could muster as I looked back up. "Um..."

'Tell me what to do, J...She's different and I can't lead them alone...Not now...Not without you.'

Nothing.

I couldn't hear him anymore...

"How does it feel when they shift, Dani? Your eyes I mean."

She blushed, "I-ah I um...warm...I feel warm...L-Like I'm being surrounded then drenched in something really warm and comforting...It feels good."

Me and Kys starred at her, her sisters' eyes wide and my eyes scrunched up in confusion... Jinxs' warm?

Her sister spoke first, "Where'd you lear- When...well...why-"

I interrupted her just then recalling what I'd seen before, "I think Jinx may have accidentally 'healed' her too much..."

Her eyes snapped over at me, the house shaking as a strong wind hit it like a bat as she yelled, standing up- her chair scraping against the floor as she glared  "He did what to her!?!"

I raised my eyebrow, hoping I was hearing her wrong as my blood boiled, a familiar possessiveness and strong manner taking over my thoughts as I tilted my head slightly looking up at her, holding Jinx closer to me, "I'm not quite sure, Kys. But do remember you. That you were the one that begged him to bring her back after holding her in that godda-... that he. he is the one alone, broken boned, scratched up, and close to a deadly state of unconsciousness, in or at who knows where for trying to do you a favor so don't...."

I spewed out- my frustration and anger clear in my voice as she was so easy & quick to blame him for something good he was trying to do. My eyes tearing up as I started back into hers

"Don't dare try and blame him for a little mistake that he might have made."

She stood still, remorse and regret gazing over her stature as she apologized softly- sitting back down softly. The air stiff and cold as the wind lightened and I sighed, running my free hand over my eyes.
