Jinx POV

have you ever felt so tired, that the thought that death was so inevitable, that there was no point in holding on anymore and it'd just make more sense to give in, seemed to be the only thing thinkable? you have? good. because i'm really tired.

...

"oh shit."

I immediately took a deep breath in trying not to panic, fresh memories of falling uncontrollably, and my lost form of communication flooding back from seconds ago when I was tumbling to my demise.

I cleared my mind as soon as I'd grasped a mental hold of calm, as my heart started to beat faster and my breaths got short because panic was starting to build up.

Light cease.

My vein-like light started to dim but not quickly enough as I heard the sound of myself still burning away whatever was holding my tired body up.

As soon as my light started to fully cloud over to my skin's normal complexion, I felt the grip starting to loosen- the scent of fire and....coconut....no...it can't be...

"Jinx?"

"...Molly?" I barley whimpered.

My eyes bulged as there was a sharp snap that resounded throughout the deep cave- the grip letting go while I took a deep breath in as I began to fall; my brain completely froze leaving my body immobile. I couldn't hear anything anymore, no voices or names or comforting words. Just the deafening silence. My skin felt numb and my arms and back continuously hitting the hard rock bordering the walls around me. All I knew was I was still here. Falling.

I could only hear the wind flying through my hair as I fell backward- the soft whistle of the burnt air flying by me.

'Jinx, are you there?'

It was Ridge. His voice not audible outside my head like her's.

'Mhm'

'Oh thank the gods, I-I thought...Where are you? Are you okay? Please tell me you're okay J, I'm coming to get you, I heard you screaming'

'I-I don't know, It's so dark.'

I said, my voice still breaking in my thoughts.

'What happe-'

'Ridge?'

...

'Ridge say something'

...

'Ridge!?'

He was gone.

I closed my eyes, the infamous waterworks rushing to the brim of my eyelids like a kid to an ice cream truck; I held my breath gripping my fists- letting my thoughts go astray to my memories of him, his short dark hair slightly messy no matter the time of day- yet always perfect, his golden specked eyes twinkling when my wings fluttered, and slightly rough fingertips wrapped around mine, and his lips...close to mine only for me to reject...I felt a cold tear slip and I tightened my grip.

I inhaled the air slowly and my ears seemed to come back into focus as I heard the rapid sounds of fast-flowing water, not far from where I suspected I would fall.
