"Want me?"

Jinx POV

"Yeah, turn in this neighborhood."

"Here?"

"Yeah. The second house to the left...Yup."

I heard Ridge and Kys talking but I kept my eyes closed not really wanting to talk.

'He likes me...'

The car stopped and the back doors opened and closed.

Ridge unbuckled and tapped my shoulder. "Com' on sleepyhead, we're here."

I put my fingers in my ear groaning as he laughed and opened his door. "It won't take long, promise."

I mumbled whines still getting up and opening my door. I carelessly let my wings show walking into the house.

"You could've closed your door!" Ridge yelled as I walked into the house.

As soon as I made it past the entryway, the door slammed behind me.

My head whipped around as my wings spread.

No one was there.

My head whipped back around, "Kys!?...Danni!?"

Nothing.

"Aw fuck."

There was another boom behind me, Ridge outside the door pointing down a hall.

I raised an eyebrow trying to unlock the door.

Jammed.

"What the hell is happening??"

I motioned for Ridge to find a way in and he nodded.

I started to heat up, my light growing but dim.

"Dani you there?!"

There was a muffled little yelp and as soon as it came it left. I immediately called fire to my hand and sprinted in the direction of the yelp.

"I'm coming, Dani!"

There was another yelp as I ran a little faster.

"Kys!?"

Nothing.

I saw a door and immediately swung it open. I was face to face with an awoken within seconds after turning on the light.

I quickly ducked as it launched at my face, the full-fledged awoken landing on a wall behind me as I quickly turned on my heels and tried to hit it with an arrowhead.

But to no avail, the arrowhead stayed put only growing brighter.

'Why didn't it go!?'

The awoken hissed, launching back at me this time flying right past my face and grabbing a wing; its nails digging into the flesh and pulling hard.

"Aghh!"

It dragged me to the ground as I closed my eyes, flailing against its pull and trying to think clearly

'Uhhh, shit! um, wind!'

My wing flapped harshly throwing the creature across the hall, but to my surprise healing itself before I'd even got a good chance to see the wound.

My eyes snapped open as I looked at my hand. The arrowhead still sat there bright and ready, so I bent my fingers around it, sliding it to the tip of my hand, aiming at the awoken and threw.
