"Nate...Nate...Nate wake up." I whispered, nudging my older brother.
He tried swatting me away, "Mel, go to bed."
I rolled my eyes, "I want ice cream."
"Go get some." He yawned.
"There's none left." I said getting up and yanking him up with me.
He sighed and got up from the floor. "Well what do you want me to do?"
"Come with me to go buy some." I said motioning towards the door. It's been two weeks since we've moved into the 'getaway' house. I'm supposed to live with only my brother Nathaniel but I invited my two best friends and Nate invited his best friend. We got a little crazy last night and passed out on the living room floor.
"Can you two shut up?"
We turned our heads to see Derrick sitting up, rubbing his eyes childishly. I don't know how he's able to rub them through all that hair. His hair covers his eyes to protect them from the sun. See he's a shadow, or a night stalker. You know when its dark and you have that feeling someone is watching you? That's what he is, except he doesn't eat you. Instead he feeds off of your emotions. He's able to stand the sun but only for periods of time. He doesn't get burned but it makes his skin feel all weird.
"Why? It's good to wake up early." I smiled.
"Not at three in the morning." That was Erick, Derrick's twin.
I chuckled, "Well now that you are up, wanna go get some ice cream with me?"
"NO!" the twins said in unison. "We're gonna get some sleep." And with that they laid right back down.
I turned to Nate and gave him the puppy eyes, "Pwetty, pwetty, pwease?"
He sighed and shook his head, "Not this time." He looked at me and gave an apologetic smile.
I frowned and then an idea came to me. I can be so smart at times. I started running down the hall. I stopped right in front of Adrian's room. I was about to open it but a hand grabbed my wrist. I looked up to see my brother giving me a 'don't even try' look. I sighed in frustration.
"Fine I'll go by myself." I started walking towards my room. I went inside and changed into black Capri's and a white shirt. I found my black chucks and slipped them on. I went to the living room area where my brother was waiting for me.
"Watch your step. Del is sleeping on the floor." Nate whispered.
I looked down to see my greenish-yellow snake coiled up. I silently stepped over her and went to my brother. He handed me a twenty. "You really need to find your wallet."
I took it and shoved it in my pocket, "Yea, yea, I know. Hey do you want anything?"
"M&M's" He replied.
"We want Kit Kats." Erick yelled.
"Shut up, you're supposed to be asleep." I said.
"So?" Derrick replied.
I went to the door and was about to leave.
"Aren't you forgetting something?"
I turned around just in time to catch the small sleek phone that was being tossed at me. I looked up to see Adrian leaned against a wall.
"Why do I need this? I'll be fine without it." I said slipping it into my back pocket.
"Your brother and I promised your parents that you won't get into any trouble while they're away on their anniversary vacation." He replied, "And thanks for waking me up." Adrian is a demon. Literally. He and my brother are best friends.
"Don't worry. I'm a Dragon Warrior." I said as if that was a good enough reason.
"You haven't even gone through the change. So basically you're just the sibling and daughter of Dragon Warriors. So try to stay out of trouble." Nate said.
I laughed, "Me, out of touble? Impossible." Now Erick and Derrick were at the door too. "Why does it feel like a far well party? I'm coming back."
"Do you really need ice cream at three in the morning?" Nate asked, ignoring my question.
I put my index finger and thumb on my chin, as if I was really considering the thought. I looked up and smiled cheekily, "Yup."
"Kay well be safe." He sighed.
"And kick the living crap outta anyone who tries to do anything to you." Derrick said.
"We give you permission." Erick smiled.
"Why doesn't one of you come with me?" I asked.
Adrian smiled, "None of us wants to drive into the city at this hour." We live on a hill about a thirty minute drive to the closest Town, but to get there that fast through a short cut.
I nodded and went towards the garage. I went in and took out my lime green Suzuki Hayabusa GSX1300R. I love going fast. I was so happy that I got this last year that I did a happy dance for three weeks! I turned it on and revved the engine twice. Right as I was about to leave my butt vibrated. I picked it up.
"Yes?" I asked sweetly.
"Helmet and keep it under 150." Adrian stated.
I rolled my eyes, "Yes father."
He chuckled, "Hurry up. And do you have your shuriken on you?"
I lifted my shoe and looked at the sole. There embedded in the rubber were two ninja stars. I thought of doing this when I was ten. It was a better way to carry some weapons around. "Yup."
"Good. Okay go get your ice cream and hurry up!"
I turned off the engine went towards the shelf that had cleaning supplies on it. I took my matching helmet and put it on. I went back to my ride and turned it back on. Now I'm ready to go. I opened the garage and left the safety of my getaway home. Oh how stupid that was.
