Chapter 1

Chapter 1:

Beep Beep Beep

I groan and slam the snooze button and drift back to sleep until I am rudely interrupted by a harsh knocking on my door.

"Tris get up! it's the first day of our senior year!!" Caleb yells

I attmpt to turn to block out his yelling, but accidently turn the wrong way and fall out of bed. Someone starts cracking up. I look up and see Caleb holding a video camera recording my fall.

"Caleb!!! were you recording!?" I shout.

He grins then runs away and locks himself in his room. I'm about to run after him but then remember I have to get ready.

I take a really quick shower and then put on some skinny jeans, a blue blouse, and some combat boots. I put on some concealer where I need it and some mascara. I just brush through by long wavy hair deciding it looks good how it is.

When I go downstairs I'm hit with the smell of chocolate chip muffins. my favorite! I grab one and right as I sit at the table with my parents Caleb comes into the kitchen.

"Tris come on! I don't wanna be late."

"But school starts in 30 minutes and it's right down the street. We aren't going to be late." I protest.

"Yeah well still bring your breakfast in the car we are leaving." He says and goes out to his car.

I roll my eyes,"bye mom and dad see you guys later." I say and kiss their heads.

"Oh yeah don't forget we have guests coming over for dinner tonight." my father reminds me

I'm about to question who but Caleb honks the horn,"Tris come on!!"

"I'm coming!!" I shout back and hop into his car.

Caleb parks his car and runs out into the school locking the car on his way in. I roll my eyes Caleb doesn't look like it, but he is such a nerd.

I start to walk but then I see Christina talking to Marlene, Lynn, Shauna, and Will by her car and walk over to them. Poor Will got sucked into our little group when he started dating Christina. He's the only boy in our group but he fits right in.

"Ahhhhhhh Tris!!!" Christina yells and gives me one of her famous bone crushing hugs.

"Christina- can't- breath." I say between breaths. She smiles sheepishly and let's go.

I walk over to everyone else and start talking to them, but suddenly we hear a car zooming the parking lot with its music blaring. It heads straight to the parking spot that I'm standing in. I have to jump out of the way and literally onto the ground or else I would be run over.

I look up while brushing the hair out of my face.  I then see that it's a black Ferrari. There's only one person in our school who has that car, and may I say the most self indulged, ignorant, cocky, rich person in our school. Aka Four. He has all of this money and no one knows what his parents do or anything. He is so closed off about his family, and his life in general.

The music stops and Four steps out of his car with his signature black ray bans, leather jacket, and short almost back hair which is spiked up. He gets his backpack and carelessly slings it over his shoulder. You can literally hear the girls swoon over him.

He looks over and smirks at me,"You better watch where you are standing someone might run over you." With that he walks away before I can say anything back.
