My eyes flutter open, welcoming the streaks of sunlight seeping through the windows. The sounds of the birds chirping sounds so peaceful, I almost smile.

Still cuddled into the sheets of Aaron's bed, I gaze around the golden light shining in the room, smiling in spite of myself. I untangle myself from the blanket and stretch out my arms. The sun warm on my skin.

I glance next to me to find Aaron not there.

I sit up and jump off the bed. Last night had been amazing, with Aaron's strong arms around my waist as we spoon on his comfy bed, the sound of his enthralling voice as he read to me, word by word. It had been lovely, and it's been a while since I've felt this way. He makes me feel this way.

I walk outside the room to find the sound of steps coming up from the stairs. My eyes widen. What if his parents are home? What if it isn't Aaron?

Aaron appears at the top of the steps, and I sigh with relief. If I was going to meet his parents, it wouldn't be like this - wearing Aarons football jersey and his mother's sweat pants. Now, that would be a crisis on my part.

Aaron grins and kisses my forehead when he reaches me. His blue eyes sparkle with different shapes of blue. I feel better already.

"Morning," he says, looking into my eyes.

"Hey," I say groggily.

He chuckles and tucks a strand of hair behind my ear, and that single gesture sends butterflies into the pit of my stomach. Then he looks at me like he wants to tell me something, but can't.

"What?" I ask. His mouth forms a grim line, but I can tell by the edges that he's trying to resist a smile.

I narrow my eyes again and repeat, "What?" but this time I demand it.

He sighs and caresses my cheek, "Someone wants to meet you downstairs..."

I suddenly feel nervous and bite my lip. Who is that someone? Oh, know... I have a vague idea of who could that be.

My eyes widen, "No, Aaron!" I gasp.

He chuckles, "Relax, it'll be fine."

I shake my head frantically. "Not like this!" I say in a low voice. "Look at what I'm wearing!"

He laughs at my neurotic episode, and puts his hands on my hips. "She'll love you, and besides, you owe me."

I furrow my eyebrows, confused , "And why is that?"

"Because I called your Mom and said you stayed the night. She was worried sick..."

Oh no. I forgot to call my mom; she must've been so worried. I mentally slap myself at my stupidity. It's bad enough I've been doing unethical things in the past week that I've neglected my parents. How irresponsible of me. Not to mention that it's a school day.

Aaron smirks, pleased with himself he did something right. "Exactly, now, you're going to meet her."

I glare at him, "I hate you."

"Love you too, Shaw."

He takes my hands in his, and to my dismay, drags me down the stairs. As he walk into his spacious kitchen, a women stands by the stove, frying up pancakes. My stomach grumbles. The delicious smell of warm buttery pancakes pervades the air. My stomach growls louder this time, that Aaron hears it and squeezes my hand.

I gulp as the women turns around slowly and beams at me. She has dark hair, with fair skin which compliments her complexion. But what startles me the most is her eyes. Her eyes are azure blue, like Aaron's. Now I know where Aaron gets his best looks from.

She turns down the oven switch to low, and dust off her palms on her apron. She strides over to me and smiles warmly to me. Then she hugs me. Aaron grins behind her shoulder. I hug her back.

She seems so motherly and carefree, which is easy to adjust to. She was so polite; we talked for hours in the morning and ate pancakes. His mother and I chatted about girl things, which earned eye rolls from Aaron.

I learnt that Aaron's Dad left her when she was pregnant at a young age, but despite that she took care of Aaron on her own for all these years. Aaron and his mother have a special connection; it's so cute to watch them talk like best friends. I can't help smiling at them both.

When I excused myself to go the bathroom, I overheard Aaron and his Mother (she told me to call her Diane) talk.

"Aaron," Diane's soft warm voice said. "She's so beautiful and kind, I'm happy for you."

I can almost hear the smile in Aaron's voice. "She's amazing, after all that's happened... she makes me feel permissive."

Diane chuckles, "I see the way she looks at you, Aaron. And, I know you care for her. It's cute seeing you both together."

"Yeah," Aaron says wistfully. "She completes me."

"Oh, don't go all poetry on me, Aaron." Diane chastised.

Aaron laughs, and it's the most wonderful thing ever. "Geez, I'm losing my cool."

"Love does that to you, Hun." His mother says, and my heart pounds against my chest.

Aaron is silence for a moment, and I decide to stop eavesdropping. I'm thankful they didn't mention Isabelle in this conversation.

When I enter the bathroom, I clutch my chest and smile. This feeling I feel, is nothing I've ever came in contact with. It makes me want to cry... but in a happy way. It doesn't make sense, this feeling, but it pains me and excites me in anticipation.

I come out of the bathroom to find Aaron waiting for me. He takes my hand and looks at me with so much emotion. My heart engulfs affectionately when he opens his mouth.

"I'm going to take you home, and after that... I'm taking you out on a real date."

I want to finish this story already. But anyways this is a short chapter I wrote, and the next will be all about Aaron and Lucy on their date.
