Aaron and I were driving to a destination I have yet to discover, I wondered where we were going. We've been driving for 10 minutes so far, the car window on my side was half down, and the gusty wind blew on my face.
Low music played on the radio, and I could see Aaron glancing at me briefly from my peripheral vision. I looked over at him, his stoic expression, and his sexy defined jaw line. His dark hair was tousled as always, and his azure eyes so focused. I could stare at him all day — his face was just so eye-catching, I can't believe I'm actually with him.
I kept on staring at him, wondering how the hell I ever had a chance. Nearly all the girls at our school found him hot, and when he suddenly gave me his full attention I have inevitably gotten some malicious looks on the way, but mostly I have never noticed anymore.
He was so handsome.
He caught me staring and his lips formed a smirk. "Nearly there." He confirmed.
I smiled. "I wish I knew where we were going..."
He caught hold of one of my hands and gave me a reassuring squeeze, circling his soft thumb over them. I looked down at his hands in mine, and I wanted to cry in happiness. Just that simple, little gesture can warm me up inside immediately. How can he do that?
"Be patient, Shaw." He murmured. His eyes were focused intently on the road.
I gazed out of the windows, the wind causing my hair to flow in front of my face. Cliffs emerged into view, and the sun drowned in the horizon — the sun was setting. It looked beautiful, and if we weren't driving I would've taken a picture.
I was so curious and giddy and nervousness brewed into my stomach. Where was he taking me? That seemed to be the continuous question bugging at my mind. We seemed to be on the coastal side, but there were only beaches and that there....
"Were nearly there," Aaron said as he accelerates right. We drove on a road with white stark beach houses, and guys with blonde hair holding surf boards talking to their friends. Palm trees came into view, where was he taking me? Oh, god...
I turned to him and narrowed my eyes, "You're not going to take me surfing are you?"
He raised his eyebrows and chuckled, his eyes still on the road, peering side to side. "No,"
"Jet skiing?" I pushed.
"No."
"Coconut collecting?"
"No."
I sighed and sunk into my chair, "Where the hell then? Are you going to kill me and dump me into the sea?"
He rolled his eyes and slowed down, "Lucy, just shut it."
I scowled at him but he didn't seem to be paying attention. The beach came into view, the water sparkling brightly against the sun set. Birds were chirping over head as Aaron parked nearby; there weren't much people at the beach at the moment, only a few surfers and adults walking on the sand.
Aaron parked and the engine died off, I looked at him questionly. He got out of the car and pocketed his keys, then closed the door. He quickly trotted to my side of the door and opened it for me, with a wide gesture of his arm.
I raised an eyebrow but clamped my mouth shut and got out; he took my arm as I closed the door. Weeds of grass crunched under my sandals as we walked toward beach, the smell of sea water swooned into my nostrils.
Aaron smiled at me, and my toes curled. His eyes were glittering with emotion, he was anxious as well because his palm was seating against mine and he chuckled nervously.
