Aaron dropped me off at my house so I could get dressed, and left and said he'll come and pick me up at 6.
At home, I went into the living room to find my dad on the sofa watching television.
"Didn't go to work?" I asked.
He jerked in the sofa, I clearly startled him. I laughed.
"Didn't see you there, and where were you young lady?" he asked sternly. Oh, oh. My dad is usually a laid back father, which is weird considering he's a lawyer.
I bit my lip, "I uh -"
He chuckled, "Don't worry, Lucybear. It's fine. How was your night?"
"It was okay," I lied. "Me and Aaron watched chick flicks all night, so I guess it was okay." Another lie. My parents don't know of my improper fiasco, and I plan on leaving like that. The last thing I want is my parents to frown down at me.
"That's okay," he smiled weirdly; he knows something.
"Spill, Dad." I said, narrowing my eyes.
He turned away, completly ignoring my command.
I raised my eyebrows. "What are you hiding?"
"Oh, nothing. Nothing at all." He still isn't looking at me, but I can hear the amusement in his voice.
I grabbed a pillow from a nearby sofa and threw it at him. He ducked his head and laughed.
"Okay, okay," he threw his palms up in surrender. "I hear he's taking you out on a date." He winked.
My jaw dropped. "Dad!" I argued. My dad liked Aaron a lot, I mean, who doesn't? There's at least nobody I know who is impervious to his charming charisma.
He grinned, "My daughter is going on her first date!" Okay, they never knew Aaron and I were intimate before, they just assumed we were 'friends'.
I shook my head, stunned. "I can't believe you."
He kept going on and on about how I'm going on a date. And when my mother came in with groceries, she was going to tongue lash at me and discipline me when my father told her I'm going on a date. She completely forgot about telling me off and boasted to my dad about how I'm suddenly getting boys attention. I couldn't believe them.
"So, what are you going to wear?" My mom winked.
"Mom, oh my god. You're so embarrassing." I grumble, walking out of the living room and into my room.
I didn't know what to wear for the date, considering I didn't know where we were going. I texted Aaron.
'What do I wear?'
He texted me back, 'Girl clothes?'
I rolled my eyes as I texted back. 'Oh my god, Aaron. You're not helping.'
He replied, 'Jeans? Anything.' Then he added a winky face.
I threw my phone on my bed and sighed. I ended up wearing a long black maxi dress, which is subtle and cute, and totally casual. I let my brown hair fall down naturally, and apply just mascara. Aaron usually liked me wearing less makeup. I slid on my black sandals and walked to the kitchen.
My dad's head was buried into the contents of the refrigerator as my mom sat on the dining table reading a book.
I wandered around the kitchen chatting to my dad.
"We have nothing," my dad complained, his head still buried in the fridge.
"I got groceries today!" my mom hissed, still engrossed in her book.
I have weird parents.
The doorbell rang, announcing Aaron's arrival.
My dad's head shot up, and we looked at each other for half a second. Then he slammed the refrigerator door. We both bolted for the foyer, but my dad got there first. Shit. My mother was behind us, grinning. My dad opened the door wide, and Aaron stood there holding a bouquet of red roses, I blushed. He looked stunning even in his casual outfit.
His dark brown hair was tousled; he wore loose jeans and a white t shirt which hugged his hard lean chest, exuding his charm. He extended the bouquet of red roses to me. It was beautiful, and I inhaled the beautiful scent.
My dad shook his hand and they immediately broke in a conversation. I rolled my eyes as my dad was recalling the time he broke his knee when he climbed a tree to save a cat. Very rebellious and heroic, Dad...
We were all in the living room, my dad and mom talking to Aaron while he waits patiently.
"I think we should let these munchkins leave already, Al." My mom stood and flashed me a wink. My dad grunted, clearly disappointed he didn't finish his story.
Aaron chuckles and grins at me before shaking my Dads hand. "Well, Leanne and Al, it was a pleasure to chat with you." He said, using my mother's first name. "I'll be stealing your daughter for the night, if that's okay."
"Oh, take her all you want." My Dad said. My eyes widened in horror.
"Wow, what a great parental figure." I muttered, and stood up.
"You guys have a lovely time," My mother smiled.
"We will." I said. "Okay, leave now?" I turned and asked Aaron.
He eyed me down and nodded in approval. "Good." He said. I scrunched up my eyebrows.
"Bye Mom, bye Dad." I said, grabbing Aarons arm and hauling him away to the foyer. Once away from my crazed but awesome parents, I shot him a look.
"What?" He demanded, but he was grinning.
"Oh, shut up. Let's just go, okay?" I suggested and walked in front of him, opening the front door.
He sighed, and then chuckled. Boys.
