How hard I tried, my focus didn't remain on the cop rambling beside me. To be honest I had no clue what he was talking about, I guess something about Lux. Which was quite irrelevant since she wasn't here yet.

Instead of listening to him, my eyes constantly wandered towards the door right opposite me. Hoping the beautiful girl, which was currently snoozing in my bed, wouldn't wake up anytime soon. If she saw the cop inhere I would be back at square one. I rather have telling her why he was here, then her finding him by walking in. Especially after a drunk night.

The cop caught my attention when he mentioned he would be coming back soon, to observe how I was doing with Lux, if I was taking care of her and he would still check up on me if I hadn't commited a crime. He swore he would probably be the first to know and we both knew the consequenses of that.

I stood up aside him, letting him out before I returned to my bedroom as fast as I could. As I stood in the dooropening I saw her hand blindly patting the matress at both sides beside her. I smiled when I heard her commit a small groan since she hadn't found what she was searching for.

Folding my arms over my chest while leaning against the doorframe, I watched her. She gave up on the blindly searching and sat up instead, her hands immediately covering her face even before she spotted me. When her head adjusted to the quick change in movements she made and her eyes adjusted to the lights, her rather small hands left her face. Her eyes finally finding mine, which were probably full of joy as I looked down on her.

Her face immediately fell, her hair coming along to hide it. Even through the darked tangled locks I could spy the reddish color creeping upon her cheeks and how she was fighting the small smile on her lips. But soon enough her slightly embaressed features changed. A frown was prominent upon her forehead and her slightly curved lips were set in one straight line before her eyes peered up at me again.

“Who was here?” Her head cocked to the side before she continued. “I heard you talking to someone, who was it?”

It was strange to hear these questions because basicly Belle knew none of my friends, or family or relatives. Not that I had much, yet she wondered who was here. Maybe she was hoping it actually to be one of my friends or relatives, so I could introduce them to her. Or maybe she was just curious. I didn't know what was going on in that little mind of hers, I didn't know one single tought or memory. I just new her name and her best friend, that's where it ended. Oh yeah sure, I knew the little things about her but let's not forget it took me a month to notice she had the word “joy” permanently written on her wrist.

I decided to just be honest with her, maybe I got something in return. She just nodded her head when I said it was someone to check up on Lux, but left soon enough because Lux wasn't here.

Before I could continue she started to rub her temples again as she cringed. I knew what she was about to say before the words actually tumbled out her mouth. I pointed at the glass of water along with the aspirins which were on the nightstand beside her. Belle shot me a small smile, I understood it as a thank you for the gesture.

As she finished the aspirines, she snuggled back underneath the covers. I found her eyes silently begging me to join. I obliged her orders without and soon her body was curled against mine and an arm of mine draped over her body.

We stayed like that for the entire morning, it was a weird thing really. It all felt so right, so comfortable. Having her in my arms while not even having herself, hell, I didn't even know her. My fingers were slowly tracing small motions, which I noticed were circles, on her bare arm. Eventually I was the one who broke the silence by whispering her name. She hummed in reponse, her head changing its angle to let her eyes find mine.
