James
James is half way down the steps when Alice calls his name.
"James? Where are you going?" She asks.
James turns around and looks up at her. She stands against the railing staring down at him. Her hair is pulled back into a ponytail and she wears a light green, V-neck tee shirt and blue jeans.
"My grandparents' house." James says.
"Oh." Alice says sounding a little deflated.
"Want to come?" James offers.
"You don't mind?" Alice looks down at her hands.
James smiles at her. "Nah. My grandparents love it when I bring someone over who's not Rixton."
Alice smiles back and runs down the stairs to meet him. Together they walk out of the house and into the sunshine. As they walk James's hand finds Alice's and their fingers entwine. He steals a glance at her and sees a smile on her lips.
"What did Amelia mean when she said it was a shame Mason was married?" Alice looks up at James.
"Mason's married." James state. The pain meds Amelia had given him earlier were finally starting to kick in. Pain doesn't shoot up his side every time he takes a step anymore.
Alice stops and turns to face James. Her eyes wide with surprise. "Seriously?"
James nods his head. "Yeah for two...no three years now."
"Then why is he not home with his wife?" Alice asks scrunching up her noise.
James looks at the ground. "You'll have to talk to him about that."
"Any more surprising secretes you boys have?" Alice demands crossing her arms.
James gives a mysterious smile. "Tons. But there is one I can tell you about."
Alice looks at him, her face blank. "And what is that?"
"Jackson is secretly a..." James pauses for effect. "Leprechaun." He finishes saying in and Irish accent.
Alice punches him in the arm and scowls.
"No really. He turns green in the light of a full moon." James says, trying his best not to laugh.
Alice rolls her eyes. "You're impossible." She turns around and starts walking down the sidewalk.
"Where are you going?" James calls after her. "You have no idea where you're going."
