Rixton

Rixton lays sprawled out on one of the couches in the living room. Amelia sits beside him in a plush chair, scolding him for getting out of his bed and walking. He's told her a hundred times already that he felt fine. True that might be due to the excess amount of painkillers he took an hour earlier. His mom and Andrew sit in two chairs at a desk in the corner, talking in hushed tones. Mason sits in a cushioned chair staring out the window.

The door to the living room opens to reveal James, Alice and Jackson. James is wearing a scowl, Alice's cheeks are red, and Jackson wears a grin.

"The love birds finally decided to join us." Rixton says, a smile spreading over his lips.

"You said you were going to stay in bed for another day." James snaps.

"I did. You told me that last night at dinner. It's almost dinner again. Therefore, it has been another day." Rixton puts his hands behind his head. Thanks to the painkillers it doesn't hurt to do so.

"Jackson said you had called a meeting." James says with a strained calm.

"Yes I did." Rixton sits up. "Have a seat."

James and Alice sit on the couch across from Rixton. Jackson sits in a chair next to Mason.

After everyone is situated Rixton stands up. "If I could get everyone's undivided attention." He moves to stand at the front of the room so everyone can see him.

Mason looks away from the window. Andrew and Caroline stop talking.

"Is all the theatrics really necessary?" Caroline asks.

"Yes. I do need you all to be here since what I'm about to say affects all of you." Rixton says then pauses.

"And what would that be?" Amelia asks sounding a little annoyed.

Rixton takes a deep breath. "I have decided to take over the company." Before anyone can say anything he adds. "I have a couple conditions though."

"What are those?" Andrew asks. His voice is carefully even.

"Well." Rixton starts to chew on the inside of his cheek. "For starters I have no idea how to run a business. I never really paid attention when I was with my dad. So I will need someone to tell me what to do." He looks at Andrew. "I know you probably hate me because my dad left me the company and not you, but if you agree to help me it'll almost be like you're running the company."

Andrew nods his head. "Anymore conditions?"

"Yes. I want to move the company in new direction." Rixton says slowly.

Andrew's eyebrows shoot up. Before he can say anything Rixton's mother speaks.
