Alice
"That pie was amazing." Alice says as she stops in front of a clothing store. She and Rixton had left James's grandparent's house a few minutes ago. Slowly, they were making their way back to Rixton's house. Neither one of them were in a hurry to get back.
"That one's pretty." She says pointing to a sky blue dress in the display window.
"Really?" Rixton asks sounding surprised.
Alice looks up at him. He stares down at her, eyebrows raised.
"Yes." She states. "Why so surprised?"
Rixton shrugs his shoulders. "Well you just didn't strike me as the girly, dressy type."
"I am a girl. I do have my girly moments." Alice says rolling her eyes.
"Good to know." Rixton mumbles as he turns around.
"Only occasionally, though." Alice says over her shoulder. She takes a step to her right and looks at a leather jacket. "I think that'd look good on you."
"Not again." Rixton moans.
"Huh?" Alice asks. She turns her head and looks at him. He stares at something across the street. She turns around to see what it is. Standing across the street is the man who shot Rixton. The burn on his cheek stands out in the sunlight. He waves his hand and flashes a crooked smile at them.
"What is he doing here?" Alice growls.
"I don't know, but if those hands disappear, shoot him." Rixton whispers. He steps off the curb and walks towards the man.
Alice doesn't hesitate to follow him. She keeps a careful eye on the man, making sure he doesn't make any move to pull out a gun. He stays where he is, arms crossed, waiting for them to come to him. Rixton stops a few feet in front of the man. Alice stands a foot behind him. She puts her hands on her hips, her fingers brushing the handle of her gun.
"What do you want?" Rixton demands. "Shooting me once wasn't enough for you?"
The man gives a dry laugh. "I wanted to see how my buddy was doing."
"I'm not your buddy." Rixton snaps.
"No need to get snappy." The man says putting his hands in the air. "Just trying to be friendly." He turns to Alice and looks her over. "Nice to see you again. You're looking good."
Alice takes a step forward, ready to punch the guy in the face, but Rixton places his hand on her arm. She glances at him. The look in his eyes tells her not to do anything impulsive.
"I think it's hardly fair to be "friendly" with someone whose name I don't even know." Rixton says with a steely calm.
