James

"Where have you two been all day?" Mason asks as James and Alice walk into the dining room. Everyone except Rixton is already sitting with a plateful of food in front of them.

"Exploring." Alice says casually. She walks to the empty seat next to Amelia and sits down.

"Mm Hmm. Exploring" Jackson says teasingly. He wiggles his eyebrows at James, who shoots him a glare.

James sits across from Alice, next to Mason. He locks eyes with her and she flashes him a quick smile. Before anyone can say anything else, a maid comes out of the kitchen and sets a plate of steaming food in front of each James and Alice.

After everyone finishes eating a maid comes out with a plate of food on a serving tray. She sets it on the table next to Amelia then leaves.

Amelia takes the tray and stands up. "I'm going to take Rix his dinner." She starts walking towards the door, but James beats her too it.

"I'll take it." James says taking the tray out of Amelia's hands.

"You two have always been inseparable. One can't go without the other. Fine." Amelia lets go of the tray and sits back down.

James holds the tray in one hand and opens the door with the other. "Don't wait up for me." He leaves the dining room and makes his way upstairs to Rixton's bedroom. He balances the try on one hand and knocks on the door with the other.

"Yeah." Rixton's voice says from inside.

James pushes open the door and walks in. Rixton lays on his bed, feet propped on his pillow. He holds a book over his head.

"How'd you get like that?" James asks setting the tray on the bedside table.

"Well since you people only visit me to feed me, like I'm some kind of pet. I get really bored and have to find ways to entertain myself. Which isn't easy seeing how every time I move or breathe it hurts. I've almost finished this book." Rixton complains.

"Why'd you have to jump in front of a bullet then?" James asks. He sits down in the chair next to the bed.

Rixton puts down the book and turns his head to glare at James. "Now he can joke about it. Well it's not funny at all. I am going to go crazy if I can't get out of this room soon."

"The doctor said one more day of bed rest then you can walk short distances." James leans back in the chair and puts his hands behind his head.

"Fine." Rixton pouts. He stares at James, studying him, then smiles.

"What?" James asks.

"What have you been doing all day?" Rixton asks ignoring James's question.
