*Killian's POV *
I had to wake up early the next morning to work, finding Emma still tucked against my chest in my old tshirt. I smiled to myself as I looked at her, affection for her making my heart swell in my chest. She'd looked so happy last night, and even now, sleeping soundly for the first time in who knew how long, she looked so ridiculously peaceful.
I wanted to stay with her like that forever, but I knew I had to work if I was going to keep this place for us. I also didn't want her to wake up alone, deciding to wake her just to let her know I was leaving. I brushed her hair off her shoulder, pressing gentle kisses to every bit of her that I could reach. She sighed as she started to stir, turning towards me a bit more as I kissed along her jaw.
"Hey, beautiful," I said softly when her eyes cracked open, brushing the apple of her cheek with my thumb. "I have to get down to the shop, I just didn't want you to wake up and find me gone."
"Hmm then don't go," she mumbled, still mostly asleep as she turned over to wrap her arms around me. I brought her closer and she cuddled into me even more, letting out a content sigh. "I missed you and its nice and comfy here."
"Then I have to work to keep it," I pointed out, stroking her hair gently as I watched her. "I'm done at two, we can get a late lunch, okay?"
"Mkay," she sighed, leaning up to kiss me. I loved how soft her lips were on mine, holding her in that sweet kiss much longer than I should have. "God I've missed you, I haven't slept so well since you came to visit."
"Well try to get a bit more sleep then," I told her with another soft kiss before I got up and got dressed, kneeling down to her level. "You're welcome to come down and hang out with me when you're ready, but sleep as long as you like."
"Thank you," she said simply, grabbing my hand when I went to stand. "For everything. I don't know what I did to get such an amazing boyfriend."
"Anything for you, Swan," I smiled, touched that she actually said that. I felt my face redden, hiding it by kissing her cheek. "I'll see you later, love."
*Emma's POV *
After he left I cuddled deep into the blankets, smiling to myself that they still smelled so much like him and easily falling back to sleep. When I woke up again I just lay there with a stupid smile on my face, so ridiculously happy I almost wanted to laugh. I'd be back to school on Monday, I was already caught up, and I was somehow living with my boyfriend of only two months.
I got up eventually to look around, finding Killian's clothes insanely comfortable. The room was bare and tiny with the smallest bathroom on the planet connected, but for us, I loved it. I got bored quickly alone, slipping on my moccasins and going downstairs. It was freezing outside our little room, my arms going around myself as I looked for Killian until I spotted him under a car.
"Fancy meeting you here," I said as I lay down on the icy concrete on my stomach next to him. "You come here often?"
"Hello, love," he smiled, his whole face brightening when he looked at me. "Sleep well?"
"I missed you," I said plainly, moving so my torso was on top of his and resting my chin on my arms on his chest after kissing him softly. "How have you not frozen to death on this floor?"
"Well now I have quite the blanket," he smirked, taking his hands off the car above us to tuck my hair behind my ear and rest them on my back. "My favorite blanket as it were. But you didn't answer my question, did my girl sleep alright?"
"Better than I have in weeks," I assured him, that stupid smile back on my face as I looked at him. He always got covered in dirt and grease when he worked and I found it absurdly hot, not doubting at all that he'd already gotten it on my face. "You can keep working, I'm just here to bug you."
"Just don't go anywhere," he warned me playfully and I giggled a bit as he started working again. "This combines two of my favorite activities, working and being with my girl."
"Well aren't you a lucky guy," I teased him and his smile grew as he let out a short laugh. "Have I told you how much I missed you yet? It feels like forever since I saw you."
"I believe you mentioned it," he said with an amused smile on his face. "But I never get tired of hearing it considering I've been going insane not seeing you."
"I missed you. I missed you. I missed you," I said, kissing his cheeks then his lips in between statements and making him laugh. "But I have to go, I have to get working on my college essays before I miss the deadlines."
"Fine," he groaned dramatically, letting his hands fall back to my back. "I'll bring lunch to you then when I'm done. You can come back down if you like, as well, but you might need a sweater."
"I will if I can," I promised, leaning up to kiss him more deeply. He let out a soft groan, tightening his hold on me to keep me in that wonderful kiss for longer. "Mmm... okay, I'll see you later."
I kissed him once more quickly and forced myself to pull away, going upstairs quickly. I'd caught a chill in the short trip from him to the room, pulling on one of his sweatshirts and crawling back into bed with my laptop. I did have to work on my essays, but first, I needed a job.
I opened my laptop, my mood instantly falling when I found what I'd been doing last... I was looking for my parents. I knew I shouldn't care anymore, but I'd been found outside this very town, they could still be here. Before I knew it I was searching again, trying desperately to get around federal firewalls and wishing I could hide behind my armor a bit more.
It's a tad short, but I promised someone I'd get this up and my brain hurts. I also got some... big, and interesting news that I will share with all of you with the next chapter. Anyway, enjoy the story, and... Later, loves!
