*Emma's POV*

I woke up overly warm, but it was a comforting reminder that I'd come home. Killian's arms were wrapped possessively around me and his face in my hair, but that wasn't close enough for me so I snuggled into his chest. He groaned and held me tighter, making me smile against his skin. I started pressing kisses up his neck and along his jaw, intent on learning him all over again like we had last night. I could tell he wasn't even fully awake, but a few moments later he ducked his head to kiss me. I let out a content sigh, tugging him further on top of me to let his weight press me into the mattress.

"Mmm," I smiled against his lips and he pulled away to rest his forehead on mine, both of us breathless and grinning. "Well good morning to you, too. I take it you slept well?"

"Not really," he smirked a bit, his eyes guilty as he lay on his side next to me with his hand on my hip. "I didn't want to wake up and find you gone. I've dreamed of this happening so many times, but this is the first time I didn't wake up without you."

"So," I prompted nervously, worrying my lip between my teeth. "You're not going to leave me again?"

"It killed me the first time, I don't think I could do that again if I tried," he sighed, tucking my hair behind my ear as his eyes lit on my necklace. "You still wear it... why?"

"I..." I couldn't find the words, my fingers going up to toy with the familiar charm. "I guess I just... couldn't bear to take it off. I always wore it every day, it just... made me feel safe. Is that weird?"

"I'm glad you never took it off," he smiled, running his thumb over the compass design before pressing a sweet kiss to my lips. His eyes looked happy, but tears were brimming in them. "I missed you so much, Emma, but..."

"But what?" I asked quietly, afraid of what he was going to say.

"What happens now?" He asked, sounding just as worried. "You... you have a boyfriend, a whole life, you're not just going to leave that behind."

"Says who?" I countered and he quirked his eyebrow. "I might have to go tie up some loose ends, but... don't think I can just walk away from you anymore."

"Emma," he tried. "Its your life, you can't-"

"I can," I insisted, tracing the stubble on his jaw. "That life has been killing me for longer than I can remember, and that so called boyfriend? I'd rather hit him with my car than spend five more minutes with him. Eventually I'll have to go back and explain to him and my boss, but for now, I'm perfectly happy right here."

"Gods but I love you," he breathed just before covering my mouth with his. Hearing him say that after so long my my heart swell, my nails digging into his back in a desperate attempt to hold him to me longer.

"I love you, too," I whispered when we broke for air, biting my lip to keep from kissing him again. "I've always loved you."

"So you're staying, huh?" He smirked and I giggled. "Should we find you an apartment, or do I get to keep you?"

"No, this is home," I assured him and his body relaxed next to me, making me smile. "You're not going to get rid of me for a very long time, I hope you know that."

"Good," he grinned and kissed me again. "Now the question is, what should we do with all this time?"

"Why don't I make you breakfast?" I offered, getting up and slipping on his tshirt from last night. "Then you can tell me what you've been up to for the last decade."

*Killian's POV*

I flopped back on the bed with a sigh, a ridiculous grin on my face. How was this even my life? I heard her phone ring and leaned over to grab it.

"Swan!" I called to her, sure I didn't want to know who Walsh was. "Your phone! Want me to answer it?"

"It's probably not important!" She called back, sounding unconcerned. "Just shut it off, please!"

I did as she asked, watching it until the screen went dark. I knew it was probably her boyfriend, making my stomach twist. I was supposed to be her boyfriend...

"Hey," she got my attention when she came back down, sitting in front of me as I lay on my side. "You okay?"

"He's your boyfriend isn't he?" I asked quietly, not meeting her eyes. "Walsh."

"Yes," she sighed, gently lifting my chin. "But to be totally honest, for me, it was never over between you and me. Not for me, anyway. It's always been you."

"I-I-I'm sorry, I just-"

"I know," she smiled softly, the look of love and understanding in her eyes  making my throat tight. "And it's okay. I never really asked about your... situation before we..."

"It's just me," I assured her, seeing where she was going with this. "Like you said, it was never really over."

"Eat your breakfast," she told me with a sniffle, trying to hide her emotion as she handed me a plate. "I hope you still like all the same stuff."

"Don't worry, I'm still me," I smiled, yanking her closer so her legs were over my lap and I could wrap my arm around her. She smiled, sliding her own arms around me and resting her head on my chest. "Now what else should we do with today?"

"Well, I'm not really planning to go anywhere outside this town, so my car isn't a big deal," she thought aloud, then looked up to meet my gaze. "What do you want to do?"

"Hmm," I pretended to contemplate my answer as I set my plate aside. I quickly grabbed her, making her squeal out a giggle when I pinned her beneath me. "I think I can think of a few things to keep us occupied."

A bit shorter than I planned, but I'm not sure if I'll be able to get you an update tomorrow, so I wanted to get you something now.

I also have a doctor's appointment in the morning, so I'll update you on her next time.

Later, loves.
