*Emma's POV *
"Killian, you don't have to go with me," I told him again as I finished packing my weekend bag. "Its just New York, I've lived there for quite a few years now, I think I can handle it."
"You weren't pregnant for any of those years," he pointed out, sitting on the edge of the bed and quickly yanking me down into his lap with a smirk. "At least as far as I know."
"No, I've never been pregnant before," I rolled my eyes with a small smile, sliding my arms up around his neck. "But I'm sure I'll still be fine. I'm just getting the rest of my stuff from my apartment."
"The apartment you shared with Walsh," he reminded me a bit bitterly. "And I don't trust him. I didn't trust him with you, and I certainly don't trust him with our baby as well. I'm going with you."
"Alright," I agreed with a sigh, giggling at the surprise in his eyes. "But you better pack fast, because I'm ready."
"Already done," he grinned, not even bothering to look guilty as he kissed my cheek. "So we're set, yeah?"
"Yeah," I rolled my eyes with a small smile, getting up and tugging him with me outside. "And since you're being stubborn, we're taking your truck, and you have to drive so I can nap on the way."
"Anything you want, my love," he smiled, helping me up into his truck. He got in on his side and pulled me over so his arm was around my waist, pressing a kiss to my temple. "Let's just go get your stuff so you don't have to worry about it."
"I think I should see a doctor while we're there," I told him a bit nervously, watching his face carefully. Confusion soon covered it as he glanced between me and the road. "I'm sure nothing's wrong, but you know how this town is with gossip. I just... want it to be a happy thing for us before it becomes a mess, you know?"
"Like I said, whatever you want," he agreed, tugging me a bit closer. I could feel his anxiety, sliding my arms around his middle and laying my head on his chest as he continued. "I'm sure you're more comfortable with your regular doctor if you have one, and I understand what you mean about the town. They made things rather messy for us last time."
"Thank you," I mumbled, his arm tightening around me when I snuggled into his side. "You take better care of me than I deserve."
"That's my job," he answered simply and I could hear the smile in his voice. "Especially now. Not only do I have you back after almost a decade, but you're carrying my child. If I didn't take care of you I wouldn't be much of a gentleman, now would I?"
"Oh, so now you're a gentleman?" I teased him, resting my chin on his chest to look up at him.
"I'm always a gentleman," he winked with a smirk, making me giggle at him. His smile faltered a bit when he looked back at the road and he sighed. "I still can't believe I was such a bloody invalid letting you go like that. What did I expect to happen?"
"Pull over," I told him, sensing him getting frustrated, and he did without question. I immediately pulled him down to me, kissing him in that desperate way I knew he needed me to until I felt him relax and letting him be the one to just barely pull away. "Better?"
"Much," he sighed, kissing me again sweetly before just pulling me into a tight hug. "I'm sorry, love. Sometimes it just hits me so hard how much I've missed you and every tiny thing about you."
"I know," I soothed him the best I could, running my fingers through the hair at the back of his neck the way I always used to. "You and that adorable stutter of yours still make my heart ache when I think about how much I've missed you."
"I was going to propose," he barely whispered and my eyes opened in shock but I didn't pull away. "When I saw you next, I had a ring picked out and everything, but I thought you deserved better. We could have a whole family by now."
"Shh," I hushed him, holding him tighter to me. "We'll have our family, I promise. We've already started, we'll get there."
"I love you," he breathed, kissing my neck and up along my jaw to my lips. I smiled against his lips, leaning my forehead on his when we pulled away.
"I know," I said simply and he smiled a bit. "Come on, let's go so we can go home. I still have to find a job."
"We'll find you something," he assured me, kissing me once more before pulling back onto the road. "And if not, I'll take care of you."
"Because you're a gentleman, right?" I teased him again.
"Exactly," he grinned, letting me snuggle up to him again.
*Killian's POV*
Walsh wasn't there when we got to the apartment, so we easily got her stuff out and left her key under the mat. She decided against seeing the doctor in the city, saying she probably needed to be further along, but I knew she was just scared.
Emma fell asleep on the way home since it was so late, her head tucked into the crook of my neck with her arms around me. I saw another car parked on the street, seeing a couple get out when I parked in the driveway. I picked Emma up carefully so I wouldn't wake, going over to meet them.
"Can I help you?" I asked them but they were focused on Emma. They were older than us, but not by more than maybe twenty years. "Hello?"
"Sorry," the man shook his head, clearing his throat as he looked up at me. "We were told this was where we could find Emma Swan."
"You found her," I nodded towards Emma asleep in my arms. "I'm sorry, who are you, exactly?"
"My name's David Nolan, and this is my wife, Mary Margaret," he told me in a strained voice, tears running down his wife's face. "We... we're Emma's parents."
Please leave thoughts and ideas! My brain is still having troubles actually doing things lately, so I really need help. Anyway, enjoy and please let me know what you think. Later, loves.
