"Swan?" Killian called from the other side of the bathroom door. "Love, you look perfect all on your own, it shouldn't take you this long to get ready."
"I just want to look nice for tonight," I answered as I opened the door. "It took me forever to find a dress that would make my bump look cute and I could dance in."
"Well," he breathed, his look of awe making my heart flutter. I'd missed having him look at me like that. "You definitely succeeded."
"Good," I grinned, going over to slide my hands up his chest and around his neck. His arms instantly snaked around me, his hands settling just above my butt. "You ready to go then?"
"In a minute," he muttered just before covering my lips with his, making me smile into our kiss. It soon grew more heated, our bodies pressed together so hard I couldn't tell whose heartbeat was whose. I wanted him desperately, the way he was kissing me just making that need grow.
"Killian," I tried to talk under the onslaught of his mouth on mine. "Mmm... I thought you wanted to go out?"
"Then you shouldn't have come out here looking like that," he smirked, teasing me. "but if the lady insists."
He kissed me again and we headed out. We went to the one bar in town, getting quite a few stares at my baby bump but ignoring them in favor of the dancefloor. I took any excuse to be in his arms, but I absolutely loved dancing with him. It brought me back to the beginning, to when we were some taboo couple in the world of judgmental teenagers but we simply didn't care.
"What's going on in that head of yours?" Killian's voice broke me from my thoughts as we swayed together slowly. "I can see the wheels turning behind your eyes."
"I'm just," I sighed and smiled slightly, tightening my hold around his neck. "Remembering where we started. A thunderstorm and a dead car."
"How you've kept that thing alive so long, I'll never know," He laughed lightly. I just smiled and rested my head on his chest before letting my eyes close. I felt his arms tighten and his chin come to rest on my hair. When he spoke again his voice was much softer. "I'm sorry I screwed things up all those years ago. I really thought you'd be better off if I wasn't weighing you down."
"Hush," I told him simply, turning my face up to nestle against his neck. "It was a long time ago, we were just kids. Besides, we're here now."
"I really was a teenage dirtbag," he sighed more to himself. I could feel his fingers digging into me, but ignored it. "I'm just sorry we missed so much."
I leaned up to give him a chaste kiss but it lingered, slowly turning hungry. I soon felt my back hit a wall, making a small sound of surprise but sliding my arms around his neck to bring him closer. I felt us heating up, forcing myself to just barely separate our lips.
"We should go," I told him breathlessly, biting my lip in an attempt not to kiss him again. "Even I can feel your self control slipping away, and I don't think these people need a show."
"Why not?" He grinned, a mischievous glint in his eyes. I gave him my vest stern face considering how clouded my mind was from him and he gave in with an eye roll. "Fine, but I hope you know what that means."
"That you're going to take me slowly, leaving me feeling thoroughly achy and satisfied tomorrow?" I teased, wrapping both my arms around him as we walked out. I saw him swallow hard and giggled, laying my head on his chest. "Hmm, I knew it."
*
The next morning I woke up feeling exactly how I predicted I would, a smile slowly spreading across my face. I was sprawled over Killian's chest already, but cuddled closer, nuzzling my face into his neck. He groaned quietly, tightening his hold on me as I fell back to sleep.
*Killian's POV*
I'd woken up to her many times, but every time felt like the first. Especially after spending so many years apart, I wasn't used to the joy that immediately filled me when I looked down and saw her there every morning. The knock on the upstairs door pulling me away effectively destroyed that when I saw who was standing there.
Just a shot fluff (for the most part) for my first chapter back after having my baby. I debated smut, but I figured we'd start slow. Anyway, let me know what you think, and I'll try to get another chapter up soon! Later, loves!
