*Katie's POV*

"Okay so you're going to serve some tables today, you worked at starbucks right?" My manager, Robert, asked me.

"Yeah" I replied as he nodded.

"Well it's very similar to that except you take their orders at the table" He said as I nodded. He handed me a notepad and a pen and told me where he would be if I needed help.

I spent all morning, taking orders and serving food and it was much easier than I ever thought.

"Hi there, I'm Katie, I'll be serving you today, what can I get you?" I said as I wrote the table number in the corner of my page and looked up, "Maddie?" I laughed.

"Hey" She smiled as I glanced over to the person across from her holding a menu up, covering their face.

The menu was sat down on the table as I laughed, "And Ashton" I nodded.

I looked at them both as they grinned at each other.

"Anyway" I said shaking my head, "What do you guys want to eat?"

"I'll have the hamburger" Ashton said as I scribbled down.

"Uh can I get the pasta?" Maddie asked as I nodded and wrote it down, taking their menu's from them, "Enjoy your date" I smirked as I walked away.

I served their food shortly after without saying much as I decided to leave them alone.

"Michael?" I asked as I walked closer to the table in the back corner as he looked up and started laughing.

"You work here?" He laughed as I sneakily hit him across the head and told someone walking by that I was taking a break.

I sat across from him, "So you here alone?" I asked.

"Yeah, everyone is on dates, Luke's out with Becca, Calum's out with Amber" I gulped slightly when he said that, "And look at Ashton and Maddie, couples make me sick"

I raised my eyebrows at him and rested my head on my hand, "Michael. What happened with Vanessa?"

"Okay so, we started our tour with one direction and the girls had to stay here, we wanted them to come but we weren't allowed. So Becca and Vanessa stayed here and waited for you to come back, it was hard to get Calum on the plane by the way, anyway. I would facetime Vanessa like everyday and then the time difference became a problem, I was always moving round different countries and it became harder for us to keep in touch. I don't know how Luke and Becca done it. And eventually we came back and at first Vanessa almost seemed angry at me and we were still dating but it wasn't the same. Then we started our tour and there was a rumour going around that I had was dating this girl called Crystal. It's all a lie, I was never dating her but everyone made it seem like that and so Vanessa found out and phoned me one night. She said that she saw the pictures but said it was okay, she wasn't bothered, because she had already cheated on me before that so apparently we were 'even'" He sighed as he finished and played with his hands as I looked to him sadly.

"Michael, I'm so sorry, honestly, I don't even know what to say" I said as I held his hand to comfort him.

"It's fine, I'm fine, thank you" He smiled as I looked to him unsure.

He stood up and opened his arms, "Really, I'm fine, thank you for listening".

I sighed and stood up and hugged him, "I'm here whenever you have to talk, okay?"

"Of course, now go back to your job" He nodded.

"Nah, lets have something to eat, I'm hungry, it's my break anyway"
