*Calum's POV*
"Are you done yet?" I asked pacing up and down, looking at the hardwood floorboards in our bedroom.
"Not since you last asked me 5 seconds ago" Katie replied as I laughed imagining her rolling her eyes.
I nodded even although she couldn't see me.
Currently, we were waiting to see if there was going to be a new addition to our family anytime soon.
Katie had an appointment soon and she wanted to check whether she was pregnant beforehand.
I waited, and waited and waited, wiping my sweaty palms on my black jeans.
After what felt like an hour, but was probably only a couple of minutes, the lock on the door clicked as it slowly opened revealing Katie with the test in her hand.
I tried my hardest to read her expression which I could usually do so easily but now I was having no luck.
Her eyes met mine as she held up the test.
I examined it for a while before realising I didn't understand.
"W-What does that mean?" I said furrowing my eyebrows signalling towards the 2 lines present.
"That means it's positive" She said as she broke out in a smile.
"What, so that's like-" I said, unable to get any words out, "Is that-"
"Yes Cal" She said smiling big, "We're having a baby!"
"We're...oh my god" I said smiling as she let out a squeal, "We're having a baby!" I repeated as she threw her arms round my neck and mine round her waist.
Her head dug into my shoulder as I kissed it repeatedly. She looked up at me as our lips connected, all our emotions pouring in to it.
"Come on, we gotta go" I said, remembering her appointment.
I planted one kiss on her head again as we got in the lift and left.
----
Once we arrived at the appointment, we sat in the waiting room.
Katie's leg moved up and down repeatedly as she held tight onto my hand which was sat on her thigh.
"D'you mind if I like, go in myself?" She said as I was confused.
"I want to be there for you" I spoke up as she smiled.
"I know you do, but this is about me. I just want.." She sighed, "If it is there. If I do have it. I don't want to look at you in that room, it just means when I look at you, I'll be looking at those plain walls with those stupid posters about smoking and I just don't want to be reminded that-"
"It's fine, I understand" I nodded, although it was hard to explain, I understood exactly what she meant. She didn't want to have to face me as soon as she received the news.
"Katie?" The lady sat at the reception called out as she looked up, "Follow me, please"
I stood up with Katie and rubbed her shoulders.
"You'll be fine, don't worry alright? I love you." I said kissing her as she accepted and slowly released my grip on her hand as she followed the receptionist through the door.
