*Katie's POV*

"She's what?" I asked putting down my fry.

"She's dead" Luke said, looking as if he was about to start crying, "Katie I'm so sorr-"

"No, it's fine" I said shaking my head as I stood up not even bothering about my phone, still holding Calum's.

"Katie, wait" Calum said as he stopped me and turned me around, "You need to process this" He continued looking at me.

"I have processed this Calum, my mother is dead, what more is there to say?" I said giving him his phone as I left the restaurant.

His footsteps followed close behind as I tried to take in everything that had just been said.

We got to the car eventually as Calum had to get through some fans.

He drove us home and no one spoke a word during the car ride.

It was a weird feeling I was having and I couldn't exactly tell what it was.

We waited in the lift silently.

"Are you alright?" Calum asked.

"I don't know honestly, I'm not going to pretend just because she's gone that I suddenly love her again because I don't, she was a complete bitch to me and I'm never forgiving her for what she done to Keith and I" I spoke as the doors opened and everyone was sitting on the couches.

"Katie.." They all said at once coming towards me as I put my hands up.

"Please" I began, "Don't bother, this isn't like the Keith situation, I don't want to hear people apologising for my loss because she was never there for me in the first place so I actually feel no different" I said as everyone went silent and stood awkwardly.

"Katie, you should know-"

"I'd really appreciate if we stopped talking about this" I said interrupting as I walked through everyone and threw my bag on the couch and heading towards the stairs.

I stood on the first step and furrowed my eyebrows before backing up as I looked back at the couch.

"What are you doing here?" I said, a disgusted look evident on my face, "Who let him in?" I asked looking at everyone individually.

"Katie, I thought you'd want to see me" My father spoke, standing up, as a sarcastic laugh escaped my mouth.

I gasped, "Wow, you just read my mind" I said sarcastically holding a hand over my heart while he just sighed.

I threw my hands in the air and laughed, "Guys" I began looking at everyone, "Did you know my dad was a comedian?" I said gesturing towards him.

"Katie, enough" He said.

"No, you don't get to control me anymore, I'm a grown adult" I said, stopping him.

He looked around at everyone as I could tell they were all feeling very awkward.

They slowly began to leave and go different ways.

I grabbed Calum's arm as he was about to walk away, I felt safer knowing he was by my side.

"Look, why are you here, I don't want to hear your lies, just tell me" I said.

"I wanted to talk about your mother" He said

"What about her?"

"Everything, but specifically how she died" He continued looking towards Calum and I.

I felt Calum tighten his grip around my waist as I waited for my dad to continue.

"It was cancer, Katie" He said as I furrowed my eyebrows.
