I was brought to court the next day. I didn't do anything wrong. All I did was answer the police in the best to my abilities. He found it offensive since all I did was "wave my hands around". I thought I was just going to be put into holding for a few hours, someone I didn't know pays bail and asks me to join their gang.
As the judge consulted with the jury, I glanced at the people behind me. Most of them I didn't know; they all looked so mad at me. I didn't see my mom; i hope she's alright. Rain was there, alone, her face emotionless. My heart ached seeing her so i turned around to face the judge.
When the jury was sent to their little room, I made a mad rush for the door. That was until I was restrained by a mob of guards that surrounded me. They handcuffed me and dragged me by the chains that dangled from my restraints on my wrist and ankles. When I refused to follow them, one of the guards sent a foot right into my stomach. I collapsed, using all my willpower to stop myself from crying.
My mom, I pleaded, where is she?
I refused to budge as they yanked on the chains some more. Where is my mom?
"Aiden!" I hear Rain scream, rushing towards me.
I must have been crying because she looked blurred through my watery eyes. Seeing her made cry even more, to the point where i was losing control of my breathing.
"He needs me!" I hear her scream as she fought against the guards restraining her. "He's going to die!"
All of a sudden, she was right next to me, holding me, placing a bag on my mouth.
"Breathe," She ordered me.
I began to gain control of my lungs, everything finally slowing down.
"Aiden," Rain was crying too. "Your mother didn't come today. She won't answer her phone."
She wrapped her arm around my neck, placing a kiss on my cheek. "I'm here, Aiden, please don't cry, I'm sure your mother is fine."
She took the bag off of my face. I wiped the tears out of my eyes.
"Look at me Aiden," she placed her hands on either side of my face, forcing me to look at her. "I will find your mother, she will come see you. You follow what they say for now. I love you."
She kissed me full on the lips, and I kissed her back, my heart fluttering like it was the first time we kissed.
"Alright, that's enough, break it up," a rude guard interrupted us, hoisting me up to my feet.
I was lead out of the courtroom, chains clattering all around me. I never looked back, trusting Rain with all my soul. My mother was going to be ok.
