Nishiki Nishio - To us

**A/N not really gonna 100% follow any canon plotline but you'll know what's supposed to be going on.  This is my version of it

Your eyes slowly opened half-way, though your vision was very blurry.  You could hardly remember what happened before you blacked out, leading you to wonder where you were.  Your body throbbed in pain, so you couldn't sit up, but you were terrified.  You wanted to call out for help, call out to your boyfriend, Nishiki, to come help you, but you couldn't.  Your voice failed you.

"I'm going to eat Kaneki, while he eats her!"  You heard a strange voice echo throughout whatever room you were in, as the sound of footsteps rang through your ears.  Soon, someone was roughly picking you up, and you were practically dropped onto the floor.  You groaned in protest, trying to clear out your vision so you could see what was happening, but you couldn't.

"I'm not going to eat her."  A quiet voice came from quite a distance away, and you suddenly realized what they were talking about: Someone was going to eat you.  "And you're not going to eat me."

"y/n!"  You heard Nishiki's voice from somewhere in the room, but you couldn't tell where.  your vision was slowly going black, and everything was becoming fuzzy.  "Let her go!"

"Don't tell me you've grown to care for a human, Nishio."  The odd man's voice came from farther away, or so you thought.  Everything seemed so far away.

"Nishi......ki......." you managed to say, though your voice was low.  To you, it sounded as though it were miles away.  You knew that you were probably going to die, that you'd die there and those... those ghouls would eat you.  You'd known that Nishiki was a ghoul, but you knew he'd never hurt you. These strangers, on the other hand, you did not know. 

"y/n!"  you heard quiet footsteps until someone, probably Nishiki, picked you up.  "y/n, you'll be okay."

Nearly everything was black now, but you could clearly see what wasn't a large black spot: Nishiki's face.  Your favorite sight in the world.  "I........ love........ you......."  You focused on his face and used all your remaining energy to lift your hand to his cheek, which was stained with blood and tears.  It hurt like hell, but for Nishiki, it was worth it.  "Thank......... you......."

"No, no y/n.  Stop saying things that make it seem like you're going to die.  I'm gonna get you out of here, and I'll find some way to fix you.  I promise."

Nishiki looked as if he were miles away from you, but you could touch his face with your hand.  You cupped his cheek for a moment, wiping away his few tears.  You felt a light feeling on your forehead as Nishiki left a small kiss on it, right before your vision went totally black.

Beep-beep.  Beep-beep.  The sound of a heart monitor right near your head slowly woke you up.  You had no idea how you were alive; or how you seemed to be okay.  Your vision was fine, unlike the last time you were awake.  You could hear everything around you.  But your stomach...  Your stomach felt empty, as if you hadn't eaten for days.

"y/n?"  Nishiki's voice came from beside you, and you turned to see him sitting in a chair right beside your hospital bed.  "Oh my god, it worked.  Thank god, for once, I did something right."

"Nishiki, what are you talking about?"

He hugged you.  "Y-you were dying.  I did what I-I had to do...  I'm so sorry, y/n."

"Nishiki...?"

He sighed, pulling out of the hug to look at you.  He placed a small black package on your lap, then grabbed your hands as he looked into your y/e/c eyes.  "I remembered what happened with Kaneki and Rize, how the doctor used her organs to save his life.  Luckily, I just so happen to have the same blood type as you, and I donated you a kidney.  The ghoul properties of the kidney and the blood... They healed you.  But it changed you.  I get it if you hate me, but I had to do something."

You shook your head, looking at the package on your lap.  It smelled delicious.  "You went through all that trouble to save me, why on earth would I be mad at you?  Actually, I'm gonna do the opposite.  Thank you.  Maybe now that I'm like you, I can understand you more.  Maybe it'll help us make our relationship even stronger.  Plus, the fact that you went to all this trouble for me just proves that you do love me."

"Did you ever doubt me?  I'll be better from now on, I promise."

You shook your head.  "I trust that you do your best to be an amazing boyfriend, which you are.  And I can't ask anything more of you."

He smiled at you, planting a quick and gentle kiss on your forehead, before pulling out a second small package.  "Now I finally get to ask you something I never could before; Wanna have dinner with me?"

You smiled and nodded as you sat up straight and unwrapped the package.  The flesh looked appalling, but smelled delicious.  "To us," you said as you took your first bite.
