Juuzou's POV
Juuzou looked up at the giraffe, then back down at his drawing. He wondered if y/n would like to see the giraffes, maybe he'd take her there sometime. He thought she'd enjoy it. He'd just have to get Shinohara to leave him alone for the afternoon. Might be hard with all the ghoul events happening lately, but it was worth it to him,, for y/n.
A cat ran over to him, and he smiled as he pet it. Did y/n like cats? She had to, everybody loves cats.
"Don't tell me that's the giraffe," Shinohara said as he walked up to Juuzou, making the cat run away. "Oh, there was a cat here? Sorry, sorry."
"Mr. Shinohara!" Juuzou said as he looked up. "You're out of the hospital?"
"Yeah, I managed to get out," the older investigator said with a smile. "Do you like animals?" he asked as he sat beside his partner.
"It's fun to imagine them in cross-sections," he said excitedly.
"O-Oh, is it?"
"Mr. Shinohara," he said as he turned to his partner with a smile on his face, tugging at the stitches on his lip, "Is the Owl really strong?"
Shinohara looked shocked at the question at first, but then regained his composure. "Yeah, he sure is."
Juuzou giggled. "I can't wait!"
"I might actually die next time," Shinohara said seriously as he looked at the giraffes in front of them.
"Whether we die or not isn't really a big deal."
Shinohara stood up and looked down at the stitched boy. "But what if it wasn't you or I, Juuzou? What if it was that girl you like?"
Juuzou's eyes widened for a moment, but then he put his smile back on. "Who told you about y/n?"
"Word gets around, Juuzou. If it were her who died, wouldn't you be sad?"
The young investigator shrugged. "I don't know, I've never lost anybody before." He looked down at his drawing and sighed. "I guess I'd miss her, but everybody dies eventually."
"But when someone dies too early, isn't it sad? Especially if it's someone you care about? I'm sure that she'd be sad if you were killed, just like I'd be." When Juuzou didn't respond, he quickly changed the topic. "Wanna go get something to eat, then head back?"
Juuzou nodded and jumped up with a smile on his face.

Your POV
Juuzou walked up to you, a slight frown on his face. It was a little unusual, you didn't recall ever seeing him frown before. "Juuzou, what's wrong?" you asked him, gently putting your hand on his shoulder.
"Would you miss me, if I died?" His words were quiet, hardly even audible.
"Of course I'd miss you, Juuzou." You'd been spending a lot of time with Juuzou recently, and you'd grown to care very much for him. There were times when you even thought you'd fallen in love with him. "Why do you ask?"
"Shinohara and I were talking," he said as he smiled at you. "That's all. Wanna go to the zoo sometime? They've got a lot of pretty animals, you'd blend in there!"
You chuckled and playfully rolled your eyes. "You calling me an animal?"
He shook his head. "I'm calling you pretty."
Your cheeks blushed pink. "Thank you. And sure, I'd love to go to the zoo sometime."
His smile grew, tugging at the stitches on his lip. You didn't know why, but you loved his stitches. "Great! It's a date!"
"A-A date?"
He nodded, slightly tossing around his white hair. "Yeah, a date. That okay?"
You smiled. "Yeah, sounds great."
"Great!" He hugged you, and kissed your cheek in the process. You began to blush even more. "I'll see you tomorrow, y/n!"
Your smile grew. "See ya, Juuzou."

Juuzou's POV (again)
Juuzou walked up to Shinohara, a smile on his face. "Mr. Shinohara?" he said as he looked up at his towering partner.
"Yes Juuzou?" he asked as he turned around, a gentle smile on his face.
"I would miss her," he said as he looked at you, through the window on the door to your office. "I'd miss her a lot."
