Hi, all!
It's the weekend, and I've decided to try my hand at critiquing other people's works and give the editing business a shot.
Reviews I will write will only be posted here in my book and will be uploaded days after the request has been accepted, and depending on the amount of requests I receive within that week. I will inform the author(s) via tagging on the comments section.
My critiques are direct to the point and are not for the thin-skinned, but I won't be brutally honest especially if I think you've only started writing very recently. Honesty and straightforwardness go a long way when you're trying to help someone improve their skills.
If you're only expecting positive reviews, then I'm not the critic for you. I also have a demanding day job and I'm trying to finish my latest novels during my free time. Patience is expected of you. Another thing: don't be discouraged if I only provide general feedback on the plot and characters; I am just the type of reader who tends to focus on the more technical aspects of your writing.
In some cases, I might go in-depth when providing feedback but only if I have the time, and only if I feel that invested into the plot, which will likely depend on whether your story and writing skills have garnered my interest.
In return, all I ask of you is that you stay open-minded and optimistic after reading my published review of your book or other written works. I also hope that you at least try to integrate my suggestions and technical corrections into your editing process.
In most cases, if I have the luxury of spare time, I will re-type and point out the parts in your book that need proofreading. This means I have read the chapters line by line, after which I will provide technical assistance (corrections on grammar/punctuation/tense/other inconsistencies). In some cases, I will provide comprehensive feedback on the blurb, plot, setting and imagery, dialogue, pacing, and characters.
Moving on!
If you're interested, fill out the request form and comment below with your story details.
Let's get this thing running!
