The guardian who had me restrained growled when I jerked away from his hold. It wasn't my fault. The damn road is bumpy! I looked out the window, and sighed when I saw that we were almost to the forest edge. The gaurdians kept a cold calculating eye on me, seeing as it took about six of them to take down an army of eight Strigoi and only one of me.
I sighed, and looked into my future. I saw myself sitting in a room with several guardians looking at me as if I was a threat. I sighed, feeling myself want nothing more than to be in the arms of a certain spirit user with brown hair and green eyes and-
Damnit, I forgot about Adrian! He's going to visit my house in the morning and freak when he doesn't see me there. Shit! What was I going to tell him?
A familiar gate caught my eye after a few hours of driving, and I instantly knew where we were. I was finally in court! But... This isn't how I imagined myself ariving. I cursed under my breath and the guardians tensed and looked at me as if I was ready to to pounce.
"Don't you dare think of using anything on us, punk." Jackass guardian #1 said.
"I'm not, considering the fact that you'll just all gang up on me like a pack of wild dogs."
"Quiet. You're not allowed to speak!"
"Just because you're doing a job meaning to protect civilians doesn't mean you have to be a jackass. I'm bored. Maybe I wanted to start a conversation with one of you." I narrowed my eyes at him. "But seeing as you're all going to ignore me anyway until the interrogation, I'll stay put like a polite little criminal, even though I don't really understand what I did wrong in making your job easier."
He gripped the steering wheel until his knuckles turned white, but didn't say anything. I smirked, and he parked the car. Once we got out, I caught sight of a large crowd and smirked knowing it was for Dimitri and this was only the beginning of all his Strigoi commotion.
The guardians blocked the veiw of me to any outsiders, and considering they were all freaking giants it wasn't hard. Before I was blocked, I caught sight of a familiar sighting of brown hair and felt my heart nearly jump. Rose.
I turned my head away from the sight, and was shoved into the interrogation room.
"Kay boys," I said, feeling bored. "Let's get this damn interrogation over with."
"I'm going to say this again, and very slowly so you all can understand," I said for what seemed like the hundreth time. "My name is Cece Hemingway. I graduated St.Vladimiar's Academy two years ago, but was unable to do the guardian's test because of a leg injury. I am not a guardian for personal reason's that at this point in time would be useless to explain."
They all still wore looks of disbelief, and I was ready to throw my hands in the air and scream "UGH!" One of them looked at me hard, and I was almost done with my illusion when he snapped me out of it.
"She's lying!" he accused. "She's a Moroi! I can see her fangs!"
The guardians all looked at me in disbelief, and feeling so freaking wound up and defeated I smiled at them, and they gasped when they saw my fangs.
"You little lying bitch!" Jackass #1 nearly yelled. "Tell us the damn truth!"
"You want the truth," I said, feeling angrier by the second, "you might as well accept what I gave you and get on with it. I did go to school as a dhampir. I did train to be a guardian. I was unable to do the test do to personal reasons. I did decide not to be a guardian knowing it was illegal and would stir up commotion in the Moroi community. You think I'm lying? Check you're fucking records, jackass."
I could tell I was testing his patience and he wasn't that far off from exploding, but one of the calmer guardians looked him in the eyes and whispered "they come first" and he stopped. He instantly put up the professional poker face all guardians wear, and looked me in the eye.
"Take her into captivity," he said calmly. "I don't know how, but this girl passed herself off as a dhampir and was able to go to school under a fake name and pretenses." He narrowed his eyes. "I don't care who the hell she thinks she is, but I'm not resting until I get the whole truth out of her."
And that's how I ended up stuck in a tiny cell with nothing to do but look at the ceiling and daydream thanks to Jackass #1.
"Where the fuck are you?" Adrian demanded. We were currently in a spirit dream he created, and we sat on my cabin porch swing. He narrowed his eyes at me in anger, and as I looked at his aura I saw some of spirits darkness raining in on his golden aura.
"I can't tell you because I'd know you instantly show up and cause things to get even more rocky in here." I looked him in the eyes, and sighed. "Most of your anger right now is because of spirit. You need to stop before you explode from the madness."
He huffed, and closed his eyes in frustration.
"I'm sorry," he said, suddenly. "I'm just worried about you. Where the hell are you? I nearly died when I didn't see you at your cabin."
"For god's sake, I'm 19 Adrian! Why can't you stop treating me like a freaking child?!"
"Because you'll always be a child to me, Princess." His old, snarky self was starting to come back. "Now where are you?"
I looked to the ground, becoming suddenly interested in the wood of my cabin.
"Don't be mad at me," I said, feeling small.
"Why would I ever be mad at you?" he asked warily. Damnit, you clueless Adrian.
"Because I'm at Court."
