I woke up and the butterflies hit me right away, today was the day I went back to school. I'd been grounded all week which meant I hadn't seen anyone for the last week, and I really missed them all, especially Luke. I brushed my light brown hair off my face and looked at the clock to see it was already 7:50.

"Shit." I said throwing my blanket off of me. I got up and heard knocking on my window. I turned to see Elyce standing there.

"What are you doing? We have to go!" I heard faintly behind the closed window.

"I overslept give me a second." I said, closing the blinds. I threw on some skinny jeans and an old Blink-182 shirt and threw my hair up in a messy ponytail. I ran to the bathroom and put on some makeup and brushed my teeth. I quickly ran down the stairs, grabbed a granola bar and walked out the door. I lived about 5 minutes away from the school and Elyce lived about 10, so we walked together everyday.

"You ready?" Elyce asked me, waiting on my doorstep.

"No..." I said sighing.

"Don't even worry about Rachel, every since you've talked to her she's shut up, trust me." She said.

"Really?" I gasped. She nodded. I started to think to myself when Elyce interupted my thoughts.

"So are you excited to see Luke? I know he's excited to see you." She said, smiling at me.

"No he's not..." I blushed, shoving her arm.

"Lannah he hasn't shut up about you the whole time you've been gone." She said, laughing. We walked into the school.

"Yeah right..." I said, I looked up to see everyone staring at me, they all smiled and a few clapped.

"Thank GOD someone finally stood up to her, good job Maia!" A girl called to me. I turned around and smiled at her. I looked over to Elyce who was smiling. Just then I looked down the hall to see Rachel flirting with some boy, the one she cheated on Luke with. A burst of courage shot through me.

"Hey." I yelled down the hall. She turned her head quickly and the smile faded from her face and turned into a glare.

"Miss me?" I asked, suddenly turning a corner. 'Ooo's, gasps, and laughter filled the hallways. I laughed and continued down the hall. I turned to Elyce who was shaking her head, smiling.

"You got some balls." She laughed. We started to go up the stairs and to my locker, when I saw Calum standing at the top of the stairs.

"Welcome back!" He said laughing.

"Cheers." I laughed, starting to walk beside him down the hall. I was looking down at the ground and when I looked up my eyes locked with Luke's, he was smiling at me. I smiled widely and felt myself blush, I was really happy to see him.

"Hey." I said, walking towards him.

"There's my little badass." He laughed and opened his arms for a hug. I smiled and wrapped my arms around him, resting my head on his chest. He planted a kiss on the top of my head which surprised me a bit, he usually didn't do this unless I was really upset.

"I missed you." He whispered into my hair. I smiled up at him and he looked at my lips, then back at my eyes.

"You guys need some alone time or?" Michaels voice behind me, knocking me out of whatever trance I was in. I laughed and Luke released me from the hug, putting his hands in his pockets. I looked over to Michael who was smiling and shaking his head, and then back at Luke who was blushing, something was definitely different.
