Weeks had gone past and I still hadn't talked to Luke. I missed him a lot, I don't even know why I was so mad at him, it's not like we were dating. The whole thing happened to quickly and I regretted every minute of it. I was walking home when I heard a familiar voice behind me, calling my name. I turned around to see Kyle walking behind me. I stopped for a minute and let him catch up.

"Hi." He said, adjusting his backpack.

"Hey." I said, now walking beside him.

"How are uh... things." He asked.

"Not so good." I sighed. He sighed too.

"Is he uh... is he dating Rachel?" I asked, terrified of the answer.

"No." He responded quickly.

"How do you know?" I asked.

"Stuff travels, everyone hear who's dating who... Well besides you, I can tell you don't care about that kind of stuff."

"Bingo." I laughed. We walked for a bit in silence.

"Can I ask you something?" He said.

"Yeah."

He stood in front of me and looked into my eyes.

"Do you remember me?" He asked, concentrating on my face.

"Do I remember you?" I asked, confused.

"Kyle Wright? 2nd Grade? We were best friends then I moved away."

My eyes widened.

"Oh my god, yes!" I smiled, "hey!" I hugged him, excitedly. We released from the hug Kyles eyes flickered behind me and his smile faded. I turned around to see a very angry Luke. He stood in front of Kyle.

"What are you doing hugging my girlf-" He cut himself off, he looked down. We stood in silence.

"Well?!" He said, his voice getting angrier.

"She isn't your girlfriend, and it's no concern of yours." Kyle shot back.

"No concern of mine?!" Luke yelled.

"Luke, stop it!" I yelled, grounding myself between the two of them. He looked at me and his blue eyes softened.

"So you're aloud to go and kiss your ex but she isn't aloud to hug her friends? Pathetic." Kyle said from behind me, Luke lunged at him, punching him in the jaw.

"Shit oh my god!" I yelled, I tried to pull Luke off of Kyle but he was too strong.

"Luke please." I said, almost crying. I didn't know what had gotten into him, it was scary. He stopped punching him and got up, letting out a deep breath and resting his hands on the back of his neck. I squatted down beside Kyle.

"Are you ok?" I asked. He looked up at me.

"If this is what I get for trying, screw it." He growled.

He got up quickly and walked away holding his jaw, and he didn't look back. I turned to Luke, perplexed.

"Why would you do that?" I asked, shaking my head. He stayed silent, staring at me.

"Honestly it was a friendly hug, and it shouldn't even matter to you, you're the one who's kissing your ex girlfriend when clearly I like y-" Luke interupted my by crashing his lips against mine, holding my face. The world around me faded, as much as I was mad at Luke, I still really liked him. Our lips felt like they were made for each other, I couldn't get over the feeling he was giving me. We finally pulled away and he looked at me, waiting for a reaction.

"Luke..." I said, stunned.

"Look I know you're mad at me, I'm mad at myself too. But please know that she threw herself on me, and I pushed her off right away. I don't have feelings for her, Maia. You're the one I like, and that's never going to change." He said while holding my hands. I couldn't get any words to come out of my mouth right now, I was absolutely frozen.

"Please say something, anything." He panicked.

"Luke... I really like you too, I'm sorry for over reacting it's just... I couldn't bear to watch it." I explained. Luke laughed a little.

"Babe, it's not your fault." He smiled. I nodded smiling.

"So anyways, theres something I wanted to ask you the other day but we kind of got interupted." He said, we began to walk down the street, holding hands.

"What's that?" I said, totally oblivious.

"Maia, do you wanna be my girlfriend?"

My eyes widened and my heart almost stopped.

"Luke..." I smiled. I could barely speak. I nodded my head quickly, smiling at the ground. Luke smiled from ear to ear, and kissed me on the forehead.

"I'm so sorry for that." He said, bringing his hand to mine, and we continued walking home.

"I don't care." I laughed.
