Maia's P.O.V.
I knocked on Calum's door. He sounded a little stressed over the phone, I had no idea what this was about. The door opened quickly and Calum was standing there. A smile spread across his face.
"Hi." He said with a dorky smile.
"Hey?" I said, laughing a little. Why was he acting so weird?
"Is Luke downstairs?" I asked, walking in. I looked over to him and his smile faded.
"Uh- no. He actually couldn't come today." He said, rubbing the back of his neck.
"Oh right, his aunts birthday." I said, scratching the back of my head. Why was he being so awkward?
"You alright?" I asked, furrowing my eyebrows. He nodded awkwardly. There was a silence.
"Are the uh- other boys downstairs?" I asked, pointing towards his staircase.
"Yeah." He nodded. I went down the stairs and he followed behind.
"Hi guys." I said, waving at the boys. Michael and Ashton looked at me with wide eyes.
"Hey." Michael said a little too enthusiastically.
"What's up..." I said, looking back and forth between the 3 of them.
"Nothing." Calum said, Michael interrupted him.
"How was your evening?" Michael asked me, smirking.
"My evening?" I questioned. My eyes widened.
"Michael shut up." Calum warned.
"Why?" I said sternly, crossing my arms. I knew the answer though.
"No reason." Michael said, beginning to strum his guitar.
"Did- did he tell you?" I asked. No one responded.
"Cal?" I said, looking to Calum. He took a deep breath and nodded. I let out a shaky breath.
"Nice." I said, fixing my hair. I felt extremely awkward now that they knew what I did. They'd probably never look at me the same again.
"We've all done it, don't feel weird about it, it's okay." Michael said, looking up from his guitar. I laughed.
"So Luke was the last? Wow you guys must have teased him really bad for that." I laughed, smiling.
"What?" Ashton said, the other boys furrowing their brows.
"What?" I said, my smile fading.
"Luke wasn't the last? He was one of the first to." Ashton continued, the other boys looked at me in confusion. My heart dropped into my stomach.
"Wh-what, he told me I was his first last night." I said. My mind became really cloudy, I felt tears filling my eyes.
"Why the hell would he say that?" Michael said, looking to Calum. There was a long silence. I can't believe he would lie to me about something like this, I thought I was special to him.
"I'm so sorry Lannah." Calum said, he had true sadness in his eyes.
"Maybe he just wanted to make you feel special?" Ashton said with confusion in his voice, standing up from his drum set.
"Well that's a funny way of doing it." I said, I felt tears roll down my cheek. I didn't want them to see me like this.
"I've um - I've gotta go, I'll see you guys." I said, I burst out crying, bolting up the stairs.
"Maia!" Calum called after me, he began following me. Calum's always been my shoulder to cry on, but honestly I just wanted to be alone right now. I stormed out his front door and got into my car, slamming the door behind me. I sat in my car for a minute when I saw Calum open up the front door. He looked at me through the front window of my car. I gave him a small smile between sobs, and drove away.
Calum's P.O.V.
I sat out on my porch as heavy rain pattered on the sidewalk in front of me. I rubbed my face. All I really wanted right now was to see Maia and to comfort her. I can't believe Luke could be that thoughtless, why would he lie to her like that? I'd never do that to her. I would do anything I can to put a smile on her face, she's the most amazing girl I've ever met and she doesn't deserve to be lied to. Luke doesn't deserve a girl like Maia.
My front door swung open and Michael appeared.
"Hey." He said, sitting beside me. Ashton had left almost an hour ago but Michael decided to stick around and write some more.
"Hey." I said.
"So today didn't really go as planned?" He said, tapping his foot.
"No not really." I said, running a hand through my hair. Michael looked over to me.
"Do you really love her?" He asked. I stayed quiet for a minute. I guess I do love her, I'd never really thought about it before.
"Yeah." I sighed. Michael nodded slowly.
"Look, Luke's one of my best mates but I honestly don't think he's right for Maia. I think you are." He said, watching the rain. I looked over to him.
"You mean it bro?" I said, smiling at him.
"Yeah." He nodded, smiling. I looked away.
"Doesn't change a thing though." I said, adjusting my snapback.
"I think it does. Go talk to her." He said, handing me the keys to his car.
"Thanks man." I said, grabbing the keys and smiling at him. I ran to his car, shielding myself from the rain with my arm. I got in and drove off to Maia's house.
