Chapter 12 - Forget

Calum's P.O.V.

Before I knew it I was knocking on Maia's door, I had no idea what I wanted to say, I just knew I needed to be with her. The curtains beside her door were pushed aside and Maia stood there, a small smile spread across her face. She opened the door.

"Hi." She sniffled. 

"How are you feeling?" I shoved my hands into my pockets. She nodded.

"Come in." She said, stepping away from the door. I followed her in and shut it quietly behind me. She sat down on the couch and I copied her. 

"I'm so sorry." Was all I could manage to say. 

"It's not your fault." She smiled, looking down at her hands.

"I just wish-" She sighed.

"Wish what?" I asked running a hand through my hair.

"He hadn't lied to me." She replied, I stayed silent. 

"I'm sorry." I said after a few moments and she let out a small laugh.

"Why do you keep saying that?" She smiled at me. 

"I don't really know what else to say." I swallowed hard, I had so much I wanted to say. She looked at me, studying my face.

"Cal, you're my best friend, I can tell when you're hiding something." She spoke. I shook my head, clearly that was not the case.

"Just tell me, what's on your mind?" She said, moving closer to me. 

"I-" I swallowed. 

"I just am mad he did that to you." I finally said.

"Me too." She sighed. 

"You don't deserve anything like that, I don't understand why he'd lie." I continued, talking fast "and I just- you're so amazing and beautiful and any guy, including me, would be so fucking lucky to have the chance to be with you, and it pisses me off because if I was with you I'd never lie like that in a million years!" I looked at her, she was looking at me in awe. I looked down at the floor. Shit, what have I done?

"I'm so sorry." I panicked. All of the sudden her lips crash against mine, she held my face, we kissed for a while and she pulled away slowly. A look of panic overtook her face.

"Shit." She backed away from me. 

"I'm so sorry Calum." She spoke, finally looking at me.

"What?" I asked.

"Shit no, I should not have done that, I'm such an idiot! Just- just forget that ever happened, okay?" She got up. I furrowed my brows.

"But-" I tried to speak but she walked towards the door and opened it, she looked at me, hinting I should go.

"What if I don't want to forget it?" I looked at her. 

"Please." She said sternly, shaking her head. I walked towards the door.

"Well good luck with Luke." I shook my head and walked out.
