Leo sat down down with you guys' son, Alex and began to speak.
"By the time I was your age, I'd give anything
To fall in love truly, was all I could think
That's when I met your mother, the girl of my dreams
The most beautiful woman, that I'd ever seen"
You're son looked at Leo curiously, and urged for more.

"She said, "Boy can I tell you a wonderful thing?
I can't help but notice, you're staring at me.
I know I shouldn't say this, but I really believe,
I can tell by your eyes that you're in love with me."

You sat on the other end of the bench at camp and could feel the gaze of the boy next to you on your back, you turned.
"You in love with me or something?" You asked with a smile.

"But dad,  why do I need to know this?"

"Now, son, I'm only telling you this
Because life can do terrible things."

Alex nodded and set his hands in his lap.

"Now, most of the time we'd have too much to drink"

"I'm not that drunk!" You giggled, giving your boyfriend of three years a kiss on the cheek.

"And we'd laugh at the stars and we'd share everything
Too young to notice, and too dumb to care
Love was a story that couldn't compare."

Leo got down on one knee.

I said, "Girl, can I tell you a wonderful thing?
I made you a present with paper and string.
Open with care now, I'm asking you, please.
You know that I love you, will you marry me?"

He handed you a small gift and opened a box with a beautiful ring on it, you cried happy tears and nodded, unable to speak.

"Now, son, I'm only telling you this
Because life can do terrible things
You'll learn, one day, I'll hope and I'll pray,
That God shows you differently."

And you remember the day, you were in the middle of a battle.
You were also pregnant, which slowed you down; you were stupid to put the baby in danger.

"She said, "Boy can I tell you a terrible thing?
It seems that I'm sick and I've only got weeks.
Please, don't be sad now, I really believe,
You were the greatest thing that ever happened to me."

You had gotten scratched, and it had gotten infected, badly.
It had only gotten worse, soon you were hospitalized.

"Slow, so slow I fell to the ground on my knees.

So don't fall in love, there's just too much to lose
If you're given the choice, then I beg you to choose
To walk away, walk away, don't let her get you.
I can't bear to see the same happen to you."

Leo was now crying, recounting all the memories.

"Now, son, I'm only telling you this
Because life can do terrible things"

-a few hours later-
Alex walked to the door of his house, somebody had rung the doorbell.
It was the postman with his new book he'd ordered online.
He got to the door and was greeted my an extremely pretty girl.
She held out his package.
"Uh hi!"
