Death

It was dark, No light,
Nothing was in sight.

I couldn't breathe.
I couldn't think.
I couldn't hear.
I couldn't see.

All I could do was feel.

I could feel the gravity,
Taking me down.
Pulling me down.

I could feel the darkness,
Following me down.
Swallowing me down.

I could feel the numbness,
Coming around.
Covering me now.

But then something caught my sight,
It was a beam of light.
It stretched a hand to help me out.
It took my hand and pulled me out.

And then I opened my heavy eyes,
Which were closed I hadn't realised.

First they met the bright light,
Oh! How I wish I had kept them closed.
But then they met those eyes as midnight,
Which suddenly flickered with hope.

I watch his lips move.
He said something,
Which I didn't get.

He traced my cheeks with his thumb,
After that, again, I felt numb.

'Stay with me' were the last words he said.
Before the darkness took me, forever, again.
