Lewis POV:
'Hmm… Should I text her? Is it too soon’ I sighed.‘ I just- just don’t know. I do not want to scare her away. I-I have feelings for her.
I have feeling for her. I am not afraid to admit that now. I need to go and tell her. I need to see her now.’ I wanted to climb on top of the roof and shout it as loud as I could so the whole world could hear this wonderful news… shame I was scared of heights.
Suddenly, there was an abrupt knock at the door that snapped me out of my daydreaming. Least the people here knock and wait unlike how my dad does-did.
“What?” I called.
“Dinner time” some snobby child announced on the other side of the door.
I have been here a while now, yet I still don’t know any names. What’s the point? I am going to leave soon anyway; I already decided so why make the effort to connect with anyone.
“K” I half-yelled before barging past the child and slipped downstairs to the long, wooden table; enclosed by stinking, poor-mannered kids; throwing-up babies and livid social workers, I sat at the end of the counter, away from the chaos.
I hated meal times anyway; being forced to eat in front of people, but here was far worse.
Here, it was hell!
“So…” Robert, a carer, muttered, “how ya findin’ it, Louis?”
“It’s Lewis,” I snapped with an attitude, “Fine”.
“Missing that girl, eh?”
“Yeah” The thought of Shannon brought a small smile to my neutral face.
“You wanna see ‘er?”
“Yeah!” I exclaimed, “Can I?”
“No, you very well can’t. You ain’t even going to that school no more. Besides, she could visit if she cares. Personally, I wouldn’t bother, seeing rat like you. Glad I got rid of ya!”
Unexpectedly, I got up and stormed out of the room, biting my tongue, knocking chairs over on the way out. I ran up to ‘my chamber’ that I had to stay in.
Tears streaming, I deliberately pushed an expensive vase over, causing it to smash, before punching a hole in my bedroom wall.
I had to get of here. I needed to see Shannon.
