Shannon POV:

“Come on, Mum,” I moaned as I paced the hallway, front door wide open.

Today was the day I could finally go and visit Lewis. It was going to be a surprise for him. Hopefully a  nice one.

“Just a minute” She yelled back. That, in parents’ language, means ‘I won’t be ready for another hour yet!’ Nevertheless, she swiftly stepped down the stairs, climbing into the metallic car parked on the driveway.

I was wearing a Pierce The Veil tank top with a red checked shirt that was open on top, with a pair of black skinnies. Mum’s hair was heavily straightened and hair-sprayed; I don’t think it would blow in the wind and her make-up was thick. She had obviously tried, and failed, to make herself seem younger. On top of that, she hasn’t stopped talking about the man who picked Lewis up; I think he was a social worker. ‘Oh God, she better not fancy him!’

“Here we are, Shannon” My mother spoke, waking me up from my precious sleep. We had only been driving for a little over an hour but I needed a siesta. We were going there early so we could spend as much time as possible together. “I’m coming in with you” she continued.

“Do you have to?” I yawned.

“Yes”

“Fine” I sighed, there was no point in arguing.

I jumped out of the vehicle and walked towards the building at speed. I really wanted to speak to Lewis; I needed to see him; check if he’s okay; I needed to tell him something rather important. How I felt about him, but I wanted to know if he felt the same way. How do I tell him that I lo-love him?

Argh, what should I do?  I’m not very good with expressing my feelings…
