You know, I really need to be posting longer chapters. (cause my friend says I keep posting short chapters)

Anyways, I just bought "Burning Tide" today and finished reading it today as well. And let me tell you.

It. Was. INTENSE!

I'm not going to be giving spoilers but i'll try to make the scene in this chapter, similar to the scene in what happened in the end of book four. Though, I wish there would've been more Reilin and that they should've put more detail where they were reunited again. Though Shanbeke sailed!

Eilene's POV

"Oh no..." Hope's voice trailed off as they all stood frozen in fear, the Many scrambling towards them.

"Quick, we need to get out of here," Zoron snapped, "Towards the Evertree."

Just then, they heard dark laughter coming from behind them, "Not so fast."

Eilene's heart dropped as she saw who was behind them. Standing there was John and his Spirit Animal, Rusty. His mouth was twisted into an evil smirk. Before, when John wasn't infected, there was a time when Eilene would've rolled her eyes or smiled a bit whenever he smirked. Now, looking at him, there was not a single trace of the old John she knew.

"Missed me, Eilene?" John asked, his voice so different.

Eilene snorted, "Miss you? I miss John, not this small black worm who's controlling that same person right now."

John let out a humorless chuckle which sent a shiver down her spine, "And that same black worm is now a few Great Beasts away to controlling all of Erdas. Admit it, traitor, you're losing. Your chance in redemption is long gone. If I know one thing, John hasn't forgiven you once, no one has."

This made Eilene flinch a bit but she shrugged it off, "I know that already, no one has forgiven me but that's not what i'm trying to do. What I am trying to do is to save Erdas, we all are, and as long as we keep on fighting, there is always hope."

"Your just wasting your breath," John said.

"Then why haven't you made the first move yet?" Eilene taunted, "Too scared?"

"I'm far from scared," John replied coldly, "Soon, the rest of the Many would be around you all."

"Oh, so you are just going to hide and let your slaves do your work now, huh?" Eilene spat, "What you are exactly, a coward."

John's mouth twisted into a scowl and he drew out his sword, "What did you say?"

"I said that you're a coward," Eilene repeated, pulling up her sleeve to call out Ursa, "You just let your minions do all the dirty work for you while you hide inside their minds like a coward."

John let out a growl that sounded as if it came from an animal then he ran at her. Eilene took out her staff and blocked his attack in time. Eilene rolled out the way as John's sword swung at her while Ursa fought with Rusty. Eilene stood up and faced John as they slowly circled each other.

John gave her an evil grin, "Improved I see."

"I've always been better," Eilene replied, "Sadly, you couldn't have put more effort to fight it."

"Fight what?" He asked.

"Fight it," she repeated, "Fight the monster inside of you."

Something flashed in John's eyes but it was gone almost too quickly that she almost missed it. She knew that he was trying to fight it but he needed help. John swung his sword at her which she blocked. The strength in his swing was strong enough to make her stagger back.
