I strolled behind one of the guards until he opened the door for me to a small room with a table and two chairs.

"He'll be brought here in a few minutes. We will be out if you need anything."

I nodded and sat anxiously on one of the chairs, waiting for the killer of my son to show up before me. The guard was standing next to the door until two knocks were heard. He escorted a handcuffed Aven with another guard and sat him on the opposite side.

"Behave," they told him and he whispered a "fuck off" that I saw.

Then we were left alone.

"Guess who came up to see me finally," he smiled sarcastically. "The love of my life."

I grimaced. Hating it. "Your father is the investor in my new business."

"My father is dead."

I shook my head. "Henry Grayson."

"Is dead."

"Is alive. Why did you lie?"

A hint of anger appeared in his eyes, "why do I have to answer that?!"

"Because I want to feel safe."

His head moved to the side. His eyes staring at the wall. "He isn't a nice person, Pearl."

"Go on."

"He tricks people until they fall into his trap. Then they disappear."

"What do you mean?"

He hid his face behind his palms. Devastated. "I don't know."

"Who disappeared? Tell me."

"My mother."
