Days, weeks and months flew by since I saw my mum in Summer. I felt like we spoke for days, sitting in, what I found out to be, her new home with her new hotel owner Fiancé Phillip James Mackleson. We sat there and I let everything out - I explained how I felt abandoned by my own mum and family, how the only people I could actually turn to turned out to be our neighbours girlfriend. I asked her so many questions - why she didnt come back, why she didnt call as much as she should have and most importantly, why did she come back now? I was expecting the usual...the cloudy answers that never really told me anything and left me more confused than anything - but for once - she answered me. She gave me the answers that I had been wondering about for a year and I finally felt myself begin to break down - the hard shell I had tried so hard to create to protect the soft one I had been forced to have, had finally broken down and I felt myself breathe. Do you understand how good it is to breathe? When you've been forced into a situation when all you can do is pray and hope that one day things will finally become clear and you can just move on. Well thats what the conversation was like with me and my Mum, i felt like we could both finally breathe.
She met Phillip when she was back home, apparently it was like some straight away love connection and they met at the local supermarket. Mum says that Phillip told her he was a landscaper instead of telling her he had chains of hotels around the world - some proper movie ish kind of stuff. Anyways they fell in love and he proposed then exposed the truth blah blah blah. Romantic though right? Phillip offered for me to move in with him and Mum but I politely declined, although me and mum had made up I still felt uneasy about moving in with someone who I had only known for a couple of hours. Mum understood though, and since I was going off to uni in a couple of months there would be no point. After the conversation with Mum the months flew by and next thing you know both Mum and Phillip were dropping me and my stuff off at my University. Nervous wasn't even the word to begin to describe how I felt - however the excitement of living on my own and meeting new people took over that. I was originally planning to stay with Auntie Joy but seeing as Jade decided to stay at home and commute for uni and Jaden taking up a apprenticeship for a Microsoft there really was no space, with Myles getting bigger and bigger by the day. I went to uni with Layla and a girl Temi, who was in my Maths class back in college. We rarely spoke back then, but being in the same uni brought us together and I ended up really liking her, she was tooooo funny. I know Akeem and Kadeen went uni together and according to Kadeem Reece goes to the same uni. I left him texts asking him about it but he never replied so I just stopped asking. It just seemed like we'd never be friends again.

*January - 6 months later*
I heard banging on my dorm door and moaned out in frustration, knowing full well who it was.
'Leave me alone Temi!!' I screamed into my pillow
''NO! We have a lecture so GET UP!' she said before I heard her walk away and into her own dorm room next door. I kissed my teeth and threw the covers off me before walking into the lil onsuit bathroom we all had in our dorms. This was what I got for being friends with a control and organisation freak. I showered quickly and brushed my teeth before creaming putting on my deodorant and flinging on my favourite pair of acid wash topshop jeans, rolling them up at the ankle, a plain white long sleeved top, my all black air max's and then a big fluffy black cardigan. I combed my hair (straightened) feeling very happy (and very gassed) that my hair was waist length and put on some mascara and eyeliner before quickly spritsing myself with perfume and grabbing my bag. I opened my door and saw Ade standing there, just about to knock.
'Good, you're up' she said throwing me one of my breakfast bars.
'Obviously. Who can sleep through you knocking like that' i said shutting and locking my door, before we both headed out of our apartment and out the dorm building. We were both walking to our creative writing lecture when we heard our friend Tommi shout our name.
