I stared in shock.
I expected the little egg to crash and break into pieces on the ice, I did not expect what actually happened though.
In an instance the egg was in the hands of man.
His black hair blew in the wind and his face was gorgeous, he held the egg carefully and then looked at me. His eyes were a beautiful brown color.
I should have been paralyzed in this beauty but instead I felt an angry urge, "Get your hands off my egg!" I got up and stomped over to him.
Without fighting or anything he held out the egg to me and I took it and cradled it.
"Princess Azalea!" Vana gasped, "Are you alright?"
"Forget about me is the egg alright?" I demanded.
She nodded, "Nothing seems wrong with it."
"Wait did you say Princess Azalea?" the man asked.
Aisha nodded, "Yes that's her, I'm her sister Princess Aisha and this is our servant Vana."
He looked at all of us the bowed to one knee, "My apologies my Princess Azalea. This is not how I wanted to meet you, and I did not mean to touch your Dragon egg."
I froze, "How did you know this was a Dragon egg?"
He smiled, oh it made my legs like water, "I've seen many pictures in my father's Library. In fact I brought some books with me, I was hoping I would see a Dragon here."
He likes Dragons just like me, I thought and held my two eggs closer.
"Sir you said something about not wanting to meet Princess Azalea this way? May I asked what that means?" Vana asked.
He nodded and stood up again, Well I just came from Ireeia and now my Father and I have come to Minallia to meet you Princess Azalea."
Huh? Wait that means he's-
I gasped, "Prince Wystan?"
He bowed again, "The one and only."
I dropped to my knees, "I'm sorry Prince Wystan I did not realize it was you, please forgive my rudeness."
"Well I did touch your egg so you have the right to be angry. It's like if a stranger picked up your newborn baby, any mother would be angry."
"Prince Wystan these eggs are important to us, we need to get them into our Castle" Aisha said bowing as well.
Prince Wystan put his hood over his head, "Are you sure your Castle will be safe for the Dragons?"
I nodded, "There are many secret rooms in the Castle many don't know about."
Prince Wystan walked beside me, "I can help you of you'd like. I know plenty about Dragons."
"Your Majesty you don't have too" I felt threaten by his presence for some strange reason.
"Don't worry Princess Azalea, you don't need to feel threatened by me. I won't hurt you or your eggs."
How does he know?
I shook my head from thoughts, "Alright follow me."
I hurried through the snow with the eggs trying to avoid my people. Vana followed behind Aisha who I trusted to carry the bigger egg. But I still wanted my little egg. Prince Wystan stayed behind me with his hood up to avoid any attention.
Finally we got to my Castle walls and I decided to go through a secret passage. It actually led to small room I made for myself to escape from my Princess duties.
We got into the small dark room, "I can barely see" Vana whispered.
I handed my little egg to Vana, "Be careful with this please.
She nodded, "Yes Princess."
I started a fire and let it warm the room. It didn't take long since my room was small, "Princess Azalea?" Prince Wystan sat down on the floor.
"Oh your majesty I can get a chair" Aisha gasped.
He shook his head, "No I'm fine. Princess Azalea if you put those eggs by the fire it will warm them and help them hatch faster."
Hatch?
I looked down at my two eggs, yes they were going to hatch sometime soon.
"Here." He grabbed a couple of blankets and handed them too me, "It's best that I not touch them."
I hesitently took the blankets and wrapped my two eggs together and placed them inside a basket and next to the fire.
I remembered this from when I was a child, my father had a she-hound that had given birth and mother placed her and her pups into a basket by a fire.
I sat and watched the eggs. All my life I had wanted to see a Dragon, and now I was going to see two.
"Vana, Aisha thank you for your help but I need to be alone now."
I heard them walk out of the room, Aisha had been here before so she knew how to get out.
"Princess Azalea?"
I turned, Prince Wystan was still here.
"Your Majesty-"
He held up his hand, "Please don't be so formal with me. My father brought me here to Minallia to search for a Queen."
I blushed and finally felt the affection I should. He didn't seem like a threat anymore.
"My father is planing to stay here for a while, I know a lot about Dragons and I can help you with your eggs" he offered.
I smiled at him for the first time, "I know a lot about Dragons too."
He grinned, "Maybe we can put our knowledge together, Dragons aren't like human babies, so it might be harder to raise them."
We became silent for a while again listening to the fire crack and burn. I glanced down at my Snow Dragon eggs then looked back at Prince Wystan.
"Azalea."
He looked up, "Excuse me?"
"You can be formal with me and call me Azalea."
He smirked, "As long as you call me Wystan. I get tired of that Prince stuff."
I nodded.
He stood up, "Can you help get out of here? My parents are staying at an Inn and were suppose to meet your family tomorrow."
I nodded, "Goodbye Wystan."
He nodded, "Goodbye Azalea."
________
Chapter 5! The Arrival of Prince Wystan Nightwalker. I realized now that I may have killed a cliche with this story. So many times a Princess or someone gets stuck in an arrange marriage and they have no stay in it. And they are already in love with somebody else and can't love the arranged person and so on so on. But in this book Azalea is perfectly fine with be arranged with Wystan and she doesn't fight against it. Tell me what you guys think?
See you guys in the next chapter.Bye~
