No words could describe how much love and pride I was feeling for Drifa. I wasn't sure if learning to fly earned her, her grown body but either way I was beyond happy for her.
Her scales were glowing, she looked like a large majestic snowflake.
She lowered herself onto the ground and folded her now large wings. The top of my head only reached to her lower chest, and that was her standing up straight.
My hands reached for her and she lowered her head for me to touch her face, I leaned my head forward until my forehead touched with hers.
Mira, Aisha, Vana and Wystan stayed behind me huddled together.
"My beautiful Drifa" I whispered.
Mother.
I eyes shot opened and I looked at her. Our eyes locked together and I could the bond between us, Drifa could speak to me... Like her mother.
"I didn't know you could speak as well."
Only full grown Dragons can speak. Only you however can hear my voice, if I reach a certain age then all will be able to hear me.
I felt a nip on my leg and I looked down, Edur stared at me with his light blue eyes.
My brother is feeling jealous, Drifa said.
I picked him up and held him despite his weight.
"You'll get your grown body too don't you worry Edur" I said and he licked my face.
"What are you doing Azalea?" Aisha step forward.
"Drifa can speak to me now, only I can hear her though."
Mother please tell your sister, Mira and Vana I am thankful for their care while you were gone.
"She thanks you guys for looking out for while I was gone" I repeated.
Mira walked until she was by my side, "It was nothing we really enjoyed it."
Drifa chuckled, I really like Mira.
"So do I."
I noticed Wystan was still lingering in the doorway, "Come on Wystan."
Hesitantly he took a step forward, I don't bit... hard I heard Drifa say.
Finally Drifa got irritated so she stood up and walked over to him, even her strides were majestic, Wystan actually to my surprise looked nervous, "S-sorry Drifa I'm so used to your baby form that seeing you as a towering Dragon kind of makes me nervous."
I'm hardly a threat to you right now, she snorted. I don't even know how to uses attacks.
"You can't fight?"
She laid down so I didn't have to stretch my head, No Mother like a regular human I must learn how to fight, hunt and live. I cannot stay in the castle anymore, my large appearance will attract unwanted attention.
"Are you alright with staying out-here?" I asked running my hands over her scales.
As long as you come to see me, She purred and rubbed her head against me.
"Of course my beautiful one" I said and kissed her head.
"What is going on?" Vana asked.
"Drifa is going to stay out here and learn more about how fight and hunt like a regular Dragon. She can't get in and out of the Castle without drawing too much attention."
"That's actually a good idea" Mira sat in the grass.
I'm hungry, Drifa growled.
"Alright I'll find you some food" I huffed and stood up, "Mira can you and Aisha say with Drifa? Wystan, Vana and I will look for some food for her."
"Yes Azalea!"
We left them and began looking for food, "Uh Wystan I should have asked Drifa what she wants to eat."
He chuckled, "We'll bring her whatever we find."
After walking around for a long time, Wystan managed to kill four rabbits. Vana and I just gathered berries.
"Are you proud of yourself?" He suddenly asked.
"Excuse me?"
"Drifa is a full grown Dragon thanks to you. You raised her. Feel proud in yourself."
I blushed at the complement, "Drifa calls me Mother. I wonder if she knows about her real one."
"I'm sure she knows your not her real mother. Giving birth isn't the only way to be a mother. You raised her, loved her, fed her and protected her. You are worthy of the title of Mother."
"I mean Wystan does she know what happened to her real mother?"
He paused, "You'll have to ask her yourself."
I sighed, "You know Wystan you should feel proud too. If I'm their mother that would make your their father."
Now I laughed at his flushed face, "Well you did all the raising, you deserve all the credit."
"I mean Wystan that you would make a great father one day."
"Well... thank you but you would be a much better parent then me."
I raised my brow, Men their so oblivious. I guess I'll have to tell him straight and forward.
"Wystan I'm falling in love with you."
He stopped and his eyes widened, "Y-you are?"
I hugged his arm, "Yes Wystan. I first thought of you as a friend who kept my secret but in our short time I've been falling in love with you. I'm glad you chose me as your queen."
His arm wrapped around me, "I am too. I mean I've been falling in love you but I also mean I'm glad I chose you Azalea!" He rambled.
We reached the Cabin and stopped talking. We got to the backyard and I laughed, Aisha was sitting on Drifa's back while Mira and Vana played with her wings. Around Drifa's mouth was red, like the berries. Vana must have given them to her.
"Here's the rest of the food Drifa."
Thank you Mother!
She ate the rabbits and the berries in a quick and short time.
I looked around, I frowned and stood up.
"What's wrong Azalea?"
"Where is Edur?"
