I woke up at 5am, got dressed, grabbed my journal, a breakfast bar, and walked to the river. On the way there, I picked a lavender colored wildflower. I carefully plucked every single flower petal off. "He loves me, he loves me not, he loves me, he loves me not, he... loves me?" I giggled. "Silly me, this is just a game anyway!" I reminded myself.
I took out my book and wrote every little detail that happened this morning and late last night.
I finished writing and stripped my socks and shoes off, and waded into the water. It was so cold!
Why do I keep thinking about Eric? I don't even like him! But what if I do? OMG
OH.
EM.
JEE.
THAT'S INSANE!!!! Maybe not that insane, but just... wow.
He's two years older than me. If I did like him, I'd get my heart crushed. I'm just a little kid to him. I might act and look fairly mature, but after all, I am only thirteen.
Well, it's about time for dance camp. Let's see how this goes!!!
Speaking of dance, Miss Lydia told us we are going to have a dance and we need to find partners. Ho boy. No boy would ever in a million years ask me. I'M A DORKWAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I hit the shower, brushed my hair and teeth, grabbed my dance bag and ran out the door-
-Then ran back in to get a ride there from my dad.
I'm wearing a cute black cocktail dress and to make it less formal, I added a belt and denim jacket to that, and pearl earrings, a necklace, and a silver bracelet. When I walked into the building, everyone was dressed, not exactly semi-formal, but kind of in the middle of that and casual, like me.
"Whoa... you look... whoa!" I spun around and there was Eric. He had actually combed his hair. WHAT THE HECK ERIC!!! HAHA!!! "Hey." he said. "Hey yourself." I snickered. "Hey." he swooned.
"This is so hard to watch." We both turned around to see Jeb. He rolled his eyes.
Eric's POV
Why did I repeat 'hey'?! I'm such an idiot around her! And here comes Jeb, acting all suave and cool. Like I wish I was. No matter how much I rehearse what I'm gonna say, I always act like a fool when I look into her gorgeous deep blue eyes.
"Well if it isn't Little Miss Journalist." Jeb sneered.
"Hey! Don't talk to her like that!" Eric growled.
"I don't think that's an insult." said Julie.
"I meant it as a complement. I think you're really smart Jul." Said Jeb.
He gave her grin and a wink and walked away.
He popped his head back in the room and said "By the way, you do look whoa, Jul."
Crap. Why is my older brother flirting with my... um, friend. I guess it's okay then...
NO! IT'S NOT! He's frickin' 17 and she's only 13!
What an idiot. Unless he was just being friendly, not flirty.
Julie's POV
We were on the way to the main room where the partner dance is.
"Your shoulders are slouched, you can't stand still, you're looking around quickly and your hands are shaking." said Eric.
"I'm fine." I stated.
"You are not fine. You seem nervous. Are you?" He asked.
"A little..." I replied.
"About what?"He asked.
"I just-" I got cut off.
"What's a gorgeous girl like you got to worry about?" There was Jack. First Jeb popped in, now Jack.
"Do you mind Jack?" Eric asked.
THEN...
Miss Lydia came over.
Another person popped in on us. Wow.
"Hey you two! It's about to start." she said, then left.
"Alright. Well we've got to go." I said.
I turned around to leave.
He grabbed me by the hand. "Jul! uhh... Julie, would you like to be my, uh, partner?" he asked.
"Sure!" I answered.
"Cool! Let's go." He held my hand on the way there!! AAAAAH!!!!!!! I'M SO HAPPY!!!!!!!!!!!
Eric's POV
I was way too nervous to call her Jul. Only her close friends call her that. Then I realized,
I was holding her hand! She was smiling, so I guess she didn't mind.
We danced for a while, like, an hour and a half, and then they let us go.
Hey guys! The rest of this chapter is pretty long, so I'll write part two later/tomorrow
