Time flies

A lot of stuff can change in one month. Dally and I are doing great. We haven't decided to label if we were boyfriend and girlfriend but we were together. Of course Soda and the gang found out. Some were happy for me others were worried for my safety but one particular person acted like they didn't care but on the inside I can see past them. I can see that how angry he was with me. I could see the fire burning in Soda's eyes everytime I'm around him. But that's not the only thing that's changed.

Soda is now dating the china doll herself, Sandy. We all use to go to school together. I wouldn't label Sandy as a greaser girl but she does live on our side of town. She dressed as a soc and delicate as one. She was educated like a soc and got everything she ever wanted. The time that Soda and I dropped out of school she got her education. I thought she was a great girl. I never had trouble with her back in school. I never talk to her outside of school either but she seems like a sweet girl. Now she is with Soda.

I don't hate her, I don't want to hurt her. Most people would want to hurt their ex's new gf or bf. I don't feel that way. I never truly knew why Soda broke up with me that night. He was making stuff up in his head for one thing. 'You will slow me down.' 'I don't need you.' Is a bunch of bullshit if you ask me but whats done is done. Can't change it now.

Dally and I were heading to see the gang. Walking all the way from my house. You might think my brothers are not cool about the relationship. But they actually prefer Dally more. I think its because they are pals and if Dally ever tried to hurt me or anything Dally knows Tim will be digging his grave while Curly carved out the tombstone. Angela would be right there behind them seeing if she needed to do anything.

"Hey so I was thinking you and I can hang out tonight. You know just have a night to ourselves." Dally puffs out smoke.

"Yeah, that sounds great. I'll let Tim know." I smile up at him.

"Guess what?" Dally stops us from walking any further. We were a few yards away from the house.

"What is it?"

"I got you something. Don't move." I stay still as Dally walks behind me. I could hear him reaching into his jean pocket and pull something out.

"Close your eyes." He mumbles with the cancer stick in his mouth. I close my eyes and smile to myself. I felt his fingers brush along my collarbone. There was a cold thin line going around my neck. Chills went up my spine.

"Alright, open them." Dally walks out from behind me to the front of me. I open my eyes slowly and look down. It was a sliver chained necklace with a charm on it. It was the letter D. Dally. It was beautiful. I look up at him as he takes a last drag out of his cigarette and throw it to the ground. He takes the heel of his boot and crushes it.

"Its beautiful Dal. Where on earth did you get it?" I wrap my arms around his torso.

"I saved up money from Buck's races. You like it?" He smirks.

"I love it." I smile. I kiss his lips softly. His hands rest on my hips pulling me forward closing off any space between us.

"I'm glad you like it." He says between kisses. We finally pull away and continued walking. Once we get to the house Darry comes flying off of the porch running straight to the old field. It was a field the guys used to play football at or rumbles were normally great there.

"What the hell?" As two-bit runs past us following Darry.

"Come on." Dally grabs my hand as we run after them.

We get to the field and see the gang standing in one area only. When we get there we saw Soda and Steve kneeling in front of Johnny. Soda was holding onto Johnny.

"No. No. No." I stutter over my words as I drop to the ground next to Johnny. Not my Johnny. His eyes were shut tight. He was bruised up badly with blood soaking his white T-shirt. He had a long cut across his face and everywhere it looked like.

"Johnny? Hey, Johnnycake?" Soda shakes him slightly trying to wake him up but his eyes stayed shut.

Soda?" Johnny says softly.

"Yeah, its me. Don't talk, you are gonna be ok." Soda looks at Johnny concerned but most of all Dally was. Dally swore to the sun as he walks over to Johnny kneeling down next to me.

"Dal, Lola." Johnny whispered roughly ignoring what Soda said. It looked like talking was taking his breath away literally.

"Hey Johnny, we're here." My eyes tear up. Who would do something like this?

"There was a whole bunch of them Blue mustang. Full. I got so scared." He cried. Now we've all seen Johnny get beat by his parents. He's never batted an eyelash or shed a tear during those times. He wasn't crying because they beat him. He was crying because they threatened him under everything. That's what it takes to break us. We can take a beating here and there we're strong like that. But if you attack us emotionally all hell breaks loose and we break down.

"Its okay Johnnycake. They are gone now. Its okay." Soda holds Johnny closer to him and brushes the hair out of his face.

"We'll get them Johnny boy. Don't you worry." Dally said coldly.

I look up at Dally and see he was in a dangerous mood now. Johnny was everything to him. A friend and a brother. Dally took care and treated Johnny just like he was his little brother.
